NEW DELHI: The realme C85 5G is listed at Rs 21,999 on the company's India store in both Parrot Purple and Peacock Green. The selectable configuration checked was 4GB RAM with 128GB storage. Its main hardware features are a 7000mAh battery, 45W charging and a 144Hz LCD, with outdoor-use features receiving unusual prominence on the product page.

What the India listing actually offers

The store selector is the basis for the memory configuration in the table. The separate specifications page uses broader dynamic-RAM language and warns that maximum configurations vary by country and region. Those marketing maxima should not be read as additional India variants with verified prices.

This distinction matters for the C85 because its product page prominently discusses multitasking. A dynamic-memory headline is not the same information as the RAM and storage printed against the selected handset. The current store view gives a concrete configuration and price, without establishing a price for every memory combination mentioned elsewhere.

Designed around time spent outdoors

Realme pairs a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor with the large battery. The product overview describes an Outdoor Mode intended to adjust display brightness, call volume, networking and performance. That emphasis is relevant to navigation and communications during time away from a desk, although the page's performance improvements are company claims rather than independent measurements.

There is a specific qualification to the networking feature: realme says the boost works with selected food-delivery applications and can vary with region and software version. It therefore does not establish a universal improvement for every app, operator or location. A handset's modem specification also cannot guarantee the signal available on a particular route.

The listed display is a 6.8-inch LCD with HD+ resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. These characteristics describe separate things. Refresh rate concerns motion updates, while resolution concerns the image's pixel detail; the higher refresh figure does not turn this into an AMOLED panel.

Battery capacity and charging are separate claims

The 7000mAh typical battery is paired with support for up to 45W charging. Realme also describes reverse charging through the charging port, subject to cable and device compatibility. This gives the phone an accessory-power function, but the feature should not be confused with its own maximum charging input.

The company's demonstrations of remaining battery after a long day come from laboratory workloads. A person using navigation, the camera and a mobile network in different conditions may see different results. The battery specification is verified; any promise that every owner will finish the day with the same percentage would go beyond that evidence.

For the terminology behind adapters and charging protocols, see our fast-charging explainer. Realme's C85 package list includes a charger, USB cable and protective case, with the usual qualification that the actual market package governs.

Read the water-resistance qualification

The C85 overview promotes IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 protection under its IP69 Pro branding. The same page says resistance can deteriorate with use and excludes damage caused by liquid immersion from warranty coverage. The protection claim and that exclusion need to be read together.

In practical terms, the product demonstrations are not an invitation to recreate an immersion test. Realme also describes a speaker-cleaning function, but that feature should not be interpreted as proof that any liquid-damaged phone can repair itself. These qualifications are particularly relevant to a model advertised around outdoor use.

Cameras and the rest of the hardware

The main camera uses a 50MP Sony IMX852 sensor, while the front camera is 8MP. Realme lists recording at 1080p and 30fps for both front and rear cameras. The published camera functions include portrait, night and dual-view modes, but a feature list does not establish the quality of the resulting photographs.

The phone weighs about 215g, according to realme's specifications, and has a Type-C port and two SIM slots. Its battery and outdoor features give it a different emphasis from the phones in our realme GT comparison.
