NEW DELHI: realme GT 7T starts at Rs 39,999 for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage on the official India store, while GT 8 Pro starts at Rs 72,999 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The entry-price difference is Rs 33,000. Both phones list a typical 7,000mAh battery and 120W wired charging, so the higher price does not buy a larger stated battery.

Matching RAM narrows the comparison
The starting-price comparison includes a difference in installed memory. Matching both phones at 12GB RAM and 256GB storage puts the gap at Rs 30,000. That is the cleaner figure for separating the cost of the phones' wider hardware packages from the memory difference.
The GT 8 Pro selector also offers a larger storage configuration, but its price is not needed to establish the matched comparison here. Equally, the lower GT 7T entry figure should not be applied to the higher-memory version simply because the storage capacity stays the same.
The camera systems explain part of the positioning
The GT 8 Pro's official feature page identifies a 200MP telephoto camera alongside its RICOH GR camera system. Its ultrawide camera is listed at 50MP. The GT 7T page instead highlights an IMX896 main camera with optical stabilisation and an 8MP wide-angle camera.
These are different photographic arrangements, not merely different megapixel totals. A dedicated telephoto changes the available camera options for distant subjects. It does not prove that every image from the more expensive phone will be better, or that a particular zoom setting will suit every scene.
Both feature pages list a 32MP front camera. The shared resolution is another reminder that price differences are distributed unevenly across a phone. Front-camera processing, exposure and video behaviour would still need direct comparison before reaching a quality verdict.
Shared battery figures, different processors
realme names Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for the GT 8 Pro and Dimensity 8400-MAX for the GT 7T on their feature pages. The GT 8 Pro also lists a Hyper Vision+ AI chip. These component names identify the platforms, without turning company performance claims into independent benchmark results.
The battery footnotes are especially useful. Both feature pages distinguish a typical capacity of 7,000mAh from a rated capacity of 6,850mAh. Those are two ways the manufacturer describes the battery, rather than separate battery variants available for purchase.
The GT 8 Pro additionally specifies 50W wireless charging. That is a meaningful difference in charging method, even though the phones share the wired power rating. It does not establish equal charging times: a maximum power specification is not a measurement of an entire charging session.
Our guide to typical and rated battery capacity explains the labels in more detail. Neither battery capacity nor the processor name alone establishes real-world endurance.
Display claims need their footnotes
The GT 8 Pro page promotes a 2K display and a local peak brightness of 7,000 nits. The GT 7T page quotes a local peak of 6,000 nits under its stated laboratory conditions. Those peaks should not be described as the brightness of the entire screen throughout normal outdoor use.
The practical questions include readability in changing light, comfortable brightness indoors and battery consumption at the chosen settings. A specifications comparison can identify the claimed limits, but cannot replace viewing both displays under the same conditions.

The verified price gap remains substantial after matching memory. The official pages connect that premium to a different camera and processor package and additional wireless charging, while battery capacity and wired charging remain shared headline specifications.
