VARANASI: Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith has called listed B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed. applicants for admission counselling on Monday, November 2, 2026, at its Faculty of Education in Varanasi. The university published the announcement and programme lists on Friday, October 30. Candidates heading to the university near Maldahiya should follow the lists' 10:30 am IST reporting instruction, ahead of the 11:00 am session shown in the general announcement.

Bring the gate pass, original certificates, one set of certificate photocopies and two stamp size photographs. Both programme lists print this checklist below the candidate tables. The gate pass is compulsory, and the university directs candidates to its entrance portal to obtain it. Check the correct programme list before setting out.

Applicants must also be ready to pay the admission fee online at the counselling venue that day. The general announcement warns that an applicant who does not pay within the prescribed time will lose the admission claim and will not get another opportunity. This makes payment preparation part of today's visit, alongside document verification.

Which applicants have been called

The official admission page carries separate provisional lists for the two self financed programmes. B.P.Ed. is identified by programme code 401 and M.P.Ed. by programme code 402. Both lists specify the Faculty of Education as the counselling venue and November 2 as the date. Their headings describe them as provisional counselling lists, so appearance on a list should not be described as completed admission.

Find the form number as well as the name when checking an entry. The tables provide the candidate's name, father's name, gender, entrance marks, weightage marks and merit index. Those separate score columns matter: the merit index is not simply the entrance examination score. For example, the first B.P.Ed. open category entry shows 334 entrance marks and four weightage marks, producing a merit index of 338.

The first M.P.Ed. open category entry records 350 entrance marks, 23 weightage marks and a merit index of 373. These are examples of how to read the published tables, rather than a statement of the final admission cutoff. Applicants should check the category heading above their own entry instead of comparing only with the first page.

Each PDF contains several category sections. Alongside open and female sections, the documents include EWS, OBC, SC and ST headings and specified EX JK sections. Page numbering can restart within the combined file. Continue through the document when looking for the relevant category, rather than treating its first section as the complete programme list.

What candidates should do today

  • Date: Monday, November 2, 2026.
  • Reporting instruction in the candidate lists: 10:30 am IST.
  • Session time in the general announcement: 11:00 am IST.
  • Venue: Faculty of Education, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith.
  • Carry: gate pass, original certificates, one photocopy set and two stamp size photographs.
  • Payment: online at the counselling venue on the same day.

Use the earlier reporting time when planning the journey. The documents give both times, and arriving for the session at 11:00 am would not meet the candidate lists' explicit instruction to report at 10:30 am. Keep the gate pass and certificate set accessible for the admission process.

The October 30 announcement reschedules counselling that had been fixed for October 17. Applicants relying on an older downloaded schedule should replace it with the November 2 announcement and the corresponding programme list. The university also says no travelling allowance is payable for attending counselling.

For other local education background, see the earlier reports on teaching vacancies at Dashashwamedh, the equal opportunity cell at IIT (BHU) and legal training at BHU. Those concern separate campus developments; today's reporting and payment instructions come from Kashi Vidyapith's own counselling documents.
