Tamil Nadu opens M.Sc Nuclear Medicine Technology applications till 22 September

The Selection Committee in Kilpauk has released the 2026-27 prospectus for Master of Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology under the allied and healthcare programme. Government quota seats in self-financing allied and healthcare institutions affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University are covered under G.O.(D) No.1071, Health and Family Welfare (PME1) Department, dated 16 September 2026.
Online applications begin at 10:00 AM on 18 September 2026 and close at 5:00 PM on 22 September 2026. The notification date is 18 September 2026. The tentative offline entrance examination is 4 October 2026, subject to change. Rank declaration, counselling, commencement of courses and closure of admission will be notified later.
Degree pathways that qualify
The prospectus accepts Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent, Bachelor of Science in Physics, Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, or any Bachelor of Science degree that includes Physics, Chemistry, Radiation or related subjects as specified in the eligibility clauses. Candidates from other universities must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University when required. There is no upper age limit.
The application fee is Rs 1,200 non-refundable through the online payment portal. SC, SCA and ST candidates of Tamil Nadu are exempted. Mere bank deduction is not treated as proof of payment until the portal confirms the fee.
Entrance at Chennai, duration and tuition
Eligible candidates download hall tickets from www.tnmedicalselection.net and attend the offline entrance only at Chennai on the date finally notified. The course duration is two years. Tuition is Rs 75,000 per annum as fixed by the fee fixation committee order dated 28 April 2026 for government quota seats in self-financing institutions, with special and other fees payable at admission.
Candidates should complete the online form before 5:00 PM on 22 September, keep semester mark sheets and degree certificates ready, and then track hall ticket release and any revision of the 4 October entrance date on the same website. The Selection Committee has warned that it will not individually contact applicants for routine schedule updates.
Because the eligibility list includes several B.Sc. pathways beyond a pure Nuclear Medicine Technology degree, candidates with Physics or Chemistry majors should verify that their mark sheets show the subject combinations the prospectus demands. Ambiguous cases should be cleared with an Eligibility Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University before counselling.
Entrance malpractice rules can bar a candidate from this course for the succeeding two years. The exam is offline and Chennai-only on the date finally notified. Hall tickets will show the centre. Candidates should not travel on the basis of an unofficial date if the website later moves the 4 October tentative slot.
At joining, originals of degree, mark sheets, community and nativity certificates must be produced at the self-financing institution along with photocopies. Tuition at Rs 75,000 per annum is only the government-quota figure named in the prospectus; special fees are extra and payable at the college. Seat counts appear during online counselling on the official site.
G.O.(D) No.1071 and the Nuclear Medicine Technology prospectus PDF hosted under the Selection Committee news section are the primary records for this admission cycle. Applicants should match their qualifying degree to the exact list in the prospectus before paying the fee.
