Tamil Nadu opens M.Sc Critical Care Technology applications till 22 September

The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Kilpauk, has issued the 2026-27 prospectus for M.Sc. Critical Care Technology under the allied and healthcare stream. The course covers government quota seats in self-financing allied and healthcare institutions affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University, as per G.O.(D) No.1068, Health and Family Welfare (PME1) Department, dated 16 September 2026.
At a Glance dates are tight. Notification is dated 18 September 2026. Online applications open at 10:00 AM on 18 September 2026 and close at 5:00 PM on 22 September 2026. Rank list, counselling, course start and closure of admission will be notified later on tnmedicalselection.net.
Fee, eligibility and age
The prospectus price and non-refundable application fee are Rs 1,200, payable online. SC, SCA and ST candidates of Tamil Nadu are exempted from the application fee. Candidates should have completed a listed undergraduate pathway such as B.Sc. Critical Care Technology, Accident and Emergency Care Technology, Cardiac Technology, Cardio Pulmonary Perfusion Care Technology, Dialysis Technology, Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology, Physician Assistant, B.Sc. Nursing or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing, with aggregate marks of at least 50 percent generally, 45 percent for BC, BCM, MBC and DNC, and 40 percent for SC, SCA and ST, as printed in the prospectus. Candidates must have completed 22 years of age as on 31 December 2026.
Merit is drawn from undergraduate semester marks reduced to a base of 100, not from a separate offline entrance date in the At a Glance table. Rank and counselling dates remain to be notified.
Course length, tuition and a three-seat attention note
The course duration is two years. Tuition for the government quota in self-financing institutions is Rs 75,000 per annum as fixed by the Fee Fixation Committee order dated 28 April 2026, with special and other fees payable at the institution.
A separate Attention notice dated 18 September 2026 says Dhanvantri College of Nursing, Namakkal, has shared three state-quota seats in this course. Because only three seats are available there, a 200-point roster applies, with one Open Competition seat, one SCA seat (convertible to SC if no SCA candidate is available) and one MBC/DNC seat.
Nativity and residence proof rules follow the standard Selection Committee pattern: certificates from the Revenue and Disaster Management Department of Tamil Nadu with official seal, as detailed in the eligibility clauses. Candidates claiming community reservation must upload the community certificate in the format the prospectus demands.
Required academic uploads include course completion and degree or provisional certificates for the qualifying B.Sc. or nursing pathway, plus semester mark sheets from first to final year. Attempt certificates and other annexure items listed in the prospectus should be scanned clearly before the 22 September close.
Because counselling dates are not yet fixed, applicants who complete the form should still keep mid-October free until the website publishes the counselling calendar. Seat matrices for self-financing institutions will appear at counselling time. The three-seat Dhanvantri roster note affects only that college share and does not rewrite the statewide eligibility rules.
Applications and updates stay on www.tnmedicalselection.net. Candidates must read the full prospectus before paying the fee, upload the required certificates, and watch the same site for rank and counselling notices after 22 September.
