Dhanvantri College of Nursing, Ganapathypuram, No. 1 Ranganoor Road, Palakapalayam Post, Muniyappan Kovil, Thiruchengodu Taluk, Namakkal 637303, has shared three state quota seats in M.Sc Critical Care Technology for the 2026-27 session. Selection Committee Notification No. 2092/SCSII(2)/2026, dated 18 September 2026, from the Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Kilpauk, Chennai, informs applicants.
Because only three seats are available, the Selection Committee will follow the 200-point roster system under G.O. (Ms) No. 65, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (K) Department, dated 27 May 2009. The roster turns listed are Open Competition (one seat), SCA (one seat, converted to SC if no SCA candidate is available) and MBC/DNC (one seat).
How this fits the Critical Care prospectus
The M.Sc Critical Care Technology prospectus for government quota seats in self-financing allied and healthcare institutions affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University was issued under G.O.(D) No.1068, Health and Family Welfare (PME1) Department, dated 16 September 2026. Online applications opened at 10:00 AM on 18 September and close at 5:00 PM on 22 September 2026. The 18 September notice does not change that calendar. It adds a named college and a three-seat communal split. The prospectus says the total number of seats will be shown on the website at the time of online counselling.
Who can apply
The course is open to Indian citizens who completed, in the regular stream, a B.Sc in Critical Care Technology, Accident and Emergency Care Technology, Cardiac Technology, Cardio Pulmonary Perfusion Care Technology, Dialysis Technology, Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology, Physician Assistant, Nursing, or Post-Basic Nursing. Minimum aggregate marks across all semesters are 50 percent for OC candidates, 45 percent for BC, BCM, MBC and DNC candidates, and 40 percent for SC, SCA and ST candidates. Candidates must be at least 22 years old as on 31 December 2026. Graduates of other universities need an eligibility certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University at admission. Candidates from other states who studied in Tamil Nadu from Class 11 onwards and completed one of these degrees in the state are considered only in the open category.
The application fee is Rs 1,200, non-refundable, and SC, SCA and ST candidates of Tamil Nadu are exempt. There is no entrance examination for this course. The merit list is based on aggregate degree marks reduced to a base of 100 and calculated to two decimals. Ties are broken by fewer appearances in the final semester, then final-semester marks, then age, then a computerised random number.
Counselling, fees and joining
Admission will be through online counselling by rank under Tamil Nadu's reservation and roster rules. Counselling registration costs Rs 500. Selected candidates pay Rs 5,000 online when downloading the allotment order, which is transferred to the college after joining and is not refundable. The course runs two years, and tuition is Rs 75,000 per annum as fixed by the Fee Fixation Committee's order of 28 April 2026, with special and other fees paid at the college.
Selected candidates must produce original certificates in person at joining, along with a medical certificate showing Hepatitis-B vaccination. Candidates found to have suppressed facts lose the seat and cannot apply for the course for the next two years.
For the Dhanvantri seats, category matters. The SCA seat goes to an SC candidate only if no SCA candidate is available, and MBC and DNC candidates compete for the single turn given to that group.
