Applications for Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics under the Tamil Nadu allied and healthcare stream are open for 2026-27. The Selection Committee prospectus rests on G.O.(D) No.1066, Health and Family Welfare (PME1) Department, dated 16 September 2026, and covers government quota seats in self-financing allied healthcare institutions affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University.

The At a Glance table differs slightly from some sibling courses on the start clock. Notification is dated 18 September 2026. Online applications commence at noon on 18 September 2026, not at 10:00 AM. The last time for online submission is 5:00 PM on 22 September 2026. A tentative offline entrance is listed for 4 October 2026, subject to change.

Eligibility, fee and entrance

Candidates should hold Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours), earlier known as B.Sc. Clinical Nutrition, or B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours), or B.Sc. Food and Nutrition on regular mode from a recognised university, with at least 50 percent aggregate across semesters. There is no upper age limit. The application fee is Rs 1,200 non-refundable online, with SC, SCA and ST candidates of Tamil Nadu exempted.

Other-state candidates who studied the qualifying degree in Tamil Nadu may be limited to the open category as printed in the prospectus. Candidates from other universities must produce an Eligibility Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University when required. Hall tickets for the Chennai offline entrance will be issued through the official website to eligible applicants only.

Two-year course and Rs 75,000 tuition

The Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics course lasts two years. Tuition is Rs 75,000 per annum for the government quota in self-financing institutions, as fixed by the fee fixation committee order dated 28 April 2026. Special and other fees are paid at the institution at admission.

Because the application window opens at noon on 18 September, candidates should not assume a morning start time copied from other paramedical prospectuses issued the same week. The Nutrition and Dietetics PDF is the authority for that noon opening. After submitting by 5:00 PM on 22 September, candidates should watch tnmedicalselection.net for any change to the 4 October entrance date, for hall tickets, and for rank and counselling notices.

Entrance scheme and merit rules mirror other allied postgraduate courses that use an offline Chennai paper: eligible candidates sit the exam, then rank lists combine entrance and academic components as printed in the examination clauses. Tie-breakers can include final-semester marks, age seniority and a computerised random number.

Candidates must upload clear scans of the qualifying degree pathway certificates and full semester mark sheets. Community, nativity and income certificates should match the formats used by the Selection Committee for Tamil Nadu professional course counselling. Incomplete mandatory columns can lead to rejection without reconsideration, as the prospectus warns.

The noon start on 18 September is easy to miss if a candidate only reads a shared summary of other prospectuses that open at 10:00 AM. Anyone who planned a morning login for Nutrition and Dietetics should instead treat noon as the first legal submission time and still finish by 5:00 PM on 22 September.

The prospectus and all later notices will appear on www.tnmedicalselection.net. The Selection Committee has said it will not individually message candidates for every update, so frequent checks of the official site are part of the application process itself.
