Tamil Nadu opens Master of Medical Laboratory Science applications till 22 September

The Selection Committee has opened Master of Medical Laboratory Science admissions for government-quota seats in self-financing allied and healthcare institutions affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University. Notification date is 18 September 2026. Online applications run from 10:00 AM on 18 September to 5:00 PM on 22 September 2026.

The prospectus rests on G.O.(D) No.1070, Health and Family Welfare (PME1) Department, dated 16 September 2026. Application fee is Rs 1,200, non-refundable. Course duration is two years. Tuition fee is listed as Rs 75,000 per annum as fixed by the fee fixation committee. Total seat numbers will appear on the website at counselling time.

Eligibility and the 4 October entrance

Applicants need a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS), earlier known as B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology, under the regular stream, with at least 50 percent aggregate across semesters (relaxations as printed for reserved categories). Candidates who studied outside Tamil Nadu must obtain an eligibility certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University at admission.

Unlike several other allied masters notified the same week, MMLS carries an offline entrance examination, tentatively at Chennai on 4 October 2026, subject to change. Hall tickets will be issued only to eligible applicants.

Merit, counselling fee and portal discipline

Merit is built from entrance scores out of 100. Inter-se rules look at fewer appearances in the final B.MLS semester, then final-semester marks, when totals match. Selected candidates pay Rs 5,000 online when downloading the allotment order. A Rs 500 online fee applies to certain counselling steps.

All updates on rank lists, counselling dates and seat matrices will be hosted only on www.tnmedicalselection.net. Candidates should finish uploads and fee payment before 5:00 PM on 22 September 2026.

Admission to the entrance or to counselling does not create a right to a seat if eligibility fails later during document checks.

Laboratory science graduates should diary the Chennai entrance as the next hard milestone after the application close and keep B.MLS marksheets and attempt certificates scanned for the portal.
