NEW DELHI: Portronics does not give refunds. Its policy pages say a product with a manufacturing defect can only be repaired or replaced within 7 days of delivery, and physical damage or a wrong item must be reported within 24 hours of receipt. Warranty repairs are done at Portronics service centres, and the buyer pays to ship the product there. Terms read on 25 October 2026, price as of 25 October 2026, 12:30 AM IST: the policy pages carry no prices.

The rules apply to products bought on portronics.com, the brand's own store, and the warranty covers products bought in India. Portronics sells power banks, chargers, cables, speakers and computer accessories, and each of the 24 power banks on its store lists a 12 month warranty on its product page.

The 7 day replacement window

Portronics' replacement policy allows a fresh unit within 7 days of delivery if the buyer shows the product was delivered defective or stopped working properly in that period. The company checks the product first. Its policy says the result is usually reported back within 24 hours of Portronics receiving the item.

The return policy adds a condition that catches many buyers out: the product must be unused, in its original box, with all paperwork, parts and accessories. Portronics defines unused as having no scratches, marks or blemishes, and says it will not accept an item with any sign of use.

When Portronics refuses a replacement

A replacement is refused if the product works but the buyer does not like how it looks or sounds, if physical damage was not reported within 24 hours, or if the fault came from an electrical surge or damage caused by the user. The policy also says, in so many words, that no return or refund will be given.

If the product does not match the website listing or its specifications, the buyer has 24 hours from delivery to tell the website support team, which will then decide on the complaint.

How a warranty claim works

To claim warranty, open a ticket at support.portronics.com and take or send the product to a Portronics service centre with the invoice. The warranty covers only the first buyer and only genuine Portronics products used as the manual says. Portronics lists several things that end the cover: physical damage, repairs by anyone it has not authorised, changes to the circuit, software or body, and damage from lightning or abnormal voltage.

One clause matters for chargers and power banks. Portronics says a product is out of warranty if it is used with adaptors or cables that do not match the ratings in its specifications. A repair or replacement does not extend the warranty, and if a product cannot be repaired, Portronics may give an equivalent product or a credit note for the invoice value.

Courier costs and transit damage

The customer pays the cost and carries the risk of sending a product to the service centre. If it is damaged in transit on the way there, Portronics says it will treat the item as physically damaged and out of warranty, and repair it only for a fee. Portronics pays the return courier charge.

What to do before you open the box

Portronics itself asks buyers to record an unboxing video, which helps if you need to prove a fault or damage. Keep the invoice and the box, test the product on the day it arrives, and use the charger and cable rated for it. The terms are on Portronics' warranty, return and refund policy page and its refund policy.
