NEW DELHI: Xiaomi India gives a 1 year warranty on its handsets, except the Redmi 7A at 2 years, and 6 months on the original battery, adapter and other accessories packed with them, according to its Limited Warranty Statement. The warranty starts from the date of activation, and service is walk-in at a Xiaomi authorised service centre. Terms read on Xiaomi's page, price as of 24 October 2026, 6:50 PM IST: the page gives no prices, and service for out-of-warranty products is quoted separately.

The details below come from the Limited Warranty Statement on Xiaomi India's website. It covers Xiaomi and Redmi products and accessories sold in India, and the handset terms say the warranty is valid only in India.

What a Xiaomi phone warranty covers

For handsets, accessories and air purifiers, Xiaomi says it will repair or replace a product free of charge during the warranty period, at its own discretion. The cover is for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship when the product is used normally. All replaced parts become Xiaomi's property.

The company may run diagnostic tests on a phone to find the cause of a fault, and it says you should back up your data first, since it is not responsible for lost programs or data.

What is not covered

Xiaomi lists several exclusions. The warranty does not cover a product whose serial number, IMEI number or warranty seal is illegible or has been removed or altered, a product missing an accessory or external part, or natural wear and tear. It excludes damage to the outer surface, including cracks, dents or scratches on cases, screens, camera lenses and buttons, and damage from contact with chemicals, water or sharp objects.

It also excludes a handset that has been rooted by the user, and general services such as password reset help, cleaning or app updates. Xiaomi decides at its discretion whether a product is out of warranty, and repairs outside warranty are quoted separately by the service centre and paid for before service.

What to carry to the service centre

Xiaomi asks you to have these ready before you contact a service agent: the model, the serial number and the IMEI number if there is one, your full address and contact details, and the purchase order number and a copy of the original invoice or receipt. The support document column in its tables says purchase order copy or number for every product group.

TVs, bands and earbuds

The TV table gives a 1 year comprehensive warranty on the product, and lists panel parts at either 1 year or 1 plus 1 years depending on the model group, with the 2025 F Series, FX Series and QLED FX Pro Series named in one group. The page layout does not make the split fully clear, so read the table on Xiaomi's site for your own TV model.

For wearables, Xiaomi lists 1 year for several Mi and Redmi bands and watches, excluding the strap. Straps and watch straps carry no warranty. Redmi Buds 5, 5A, 5C and 6 get 1 year for mechanical and electrical failure, while older Mi and Redmi earphones and Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 get 6 months.

Other Xiaomi products

Robot vacuums, air purifiers, fans and air fryers get 1 year on the main device, and Xiaomi lists consumables such as brushes, mops and filters at no warranty. The fan and air fryer tables also list a 10 day DOA/DAP cover for manufacturing defects. Check the page for the model you bought.

What to check before you buy

Activate the phone soon after you buy it, since the warranty runs from activation and not from the invoice date. Keep the invoice and the box with the IMEI label. For Xiaomi prices, see our Xiaomi 17 deal report, our Redmi 17C and Redmi 17 comparison and our Diwali price trail report.
