NEW DELHI: Piaggio lists a 9.5-litre petrol tank for the Ape NXT+ Petrol, a 40-litre CNG cylinder specification plus a 2.8-litre petrol tank for the NXT+ CNG, and a 20.6-litre LPG tank plus a 2.8-litre petrol tank for the NXT+ LPG. These are separate fuel variants, not a combined set of tanks on every NXT+.
| Official specification | NXT+ Petrol | NXT+ CNG | NXT+ LPG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fuel storage as published | Petrol: 9.5 litres | CNG: 40 litres; petrol: 2.8 litres | LPG: 20.6 litres; petrol: 2.8 litres |
| Maximum power | 7.9 kW at 4,200 rpm | 6.75 kW at 4,700 rpm | 7.3 kW at 4,800 rpm |
| Maximum torque | 18.9 Nm at 2,200 rpm | 15.85 Nm at 2,200 rpm | 16.60 Nm at 2,400 rpm |

Read the fuel heading before the engine figure
The NXT+ pages use the same model name and broadly similar presentation, making it easy to carry a specification from one fuel page into another. Begin with the fuel-type field, then copy the relevant power, torque and tank entries together. Keep that group intact when comparing a written quotation or checking an existing vehicle's details.
The petrol page also lists CNG, LPG and petrol as fuel options for the range. That describes the choice of versions. It does not mean the petrol-only vehicle arrives with the gas storage system shown for a different variant. Ask for the fuel variant to be written out on the configuration sheet instead of relying on an NXT+ badge.
The power figures need the same discipline. Piaggio gives different peak outputs and engine speeds for the three versions. Do not attach the petrol model's output to a CNG quotation merely because the range shares its basic engine description. Equally, a peak power figure alone does not describe the experience of every loaded trip.
Keep tank volume and delivered fuel separate
Piaggio publishes the CNG cylinder specification in litres. Treat that as the manufacturer's storage specification, not as a statement that the vehicle takes that many kilograms of CNG at a filling station. This guide makes no volume-to-mass conversion and does not infer a full-tank driving distance from the litre entry.
The LPG and petrol entries should also remain separately labelled. Adding their litre figures produces a total that is unhelpful for estimating a working day's range without verified consumption and usable-fuel information. The presence of a secondary petrol tank is a specification detail, not evidence that an arbitrary route can be completed without another fuel stop.
A useful operating record starts with actual fuel purchases and distance travelled. Keep separate entries for each fuel used, with the corresponding receipts where available. If the driver changes fuels during a shift, record the change rather than attributing the whole distance to the gas purchase made at the beginning of the day.
Plan the station visit as part of passenger work
For an NXT+ serving a railway-station stand, the practical question is how refuelling fits around the periods when passengers arrive. Map the journey to a suitable station, the return to the stand and the likely interruption to work. A storage number cannot answer that scheduling question on its own.
Check current local fuel availability independently before setting a rota. Do not assume a station selling one gaseous fuel also supplies the other. The NXT+ LPG and CNG pages describe distinct variants, so the station check must match the actual vehicle. Keep the refuelling instructions supplied with it available to every driver who uses it.
Before handover, have the relevant fuel controls and indications demonstrated for the exact version. Ask how to recognise a warning and where the handbook describes the response. The public specification pages are not a complete procedure for changing fuel mode, filling tanks or handling a fault, so those steps should not be reconstructed from a comparison table.
Preserve the passenger-space check
All three pages describe seating for the driver and passengers separately. Retain that wording in any fleet record rather than using an ambiguous total-seat label. When checking the actual auto, compare its documents and layout with the relevant model specification. The range's small-body description is not a substitute for that inspection.
For a station run, inspect the space used by ordinary passenger luggage with the seating occupied as intended. Ensure the planned arrangement keeps access usable and does not depend on moving a passenger into a space intended for the driver or luggage. This is a practical layout check, not a published luggage-weight allowance from Piaggio.
Keep fuel storage, seating and the operating instructions in the same handover file. That prevents the next driver from inheriting a generic NXT+ sheet containing the petrol tank from one version and the output from another. It also leaves a clear reference when an authorised workshop needs to identify the vehicle.
