NEW DELHI: The Victoris brochure assigns Level 2 ADAS to the 6-speed automatic within the Zxi+ and Zxi+ (O) trim group. A top-trim badge alone does not establish ADAS availability. The official equipment matrix uses different entries for driver assistance, the surround-view camera and standard airbags, so each needs to be checked separately.

The brochure also distinguishes ordinary cruise control from the adaptive system. Its conventional cruise-control row refers to manual and Strong Hybrid versions within the top trim group, while the adaptive row specifies 6AT. Asking only whether the car has cruise control can therefore produce an incomplete answer. Name the particular function when checking the specification.

Read across the row, then check the gearbox

The decisive brochure entries sit in the safety matrix. ADAS-related rows show dashes under the lower trim groups and specify 6AT under Zxi+ / Zxi+ (O). The reading is therefore narrower than the statement that Victoris offers ADAS: the feature is attached to a particular trim and transmission combination.

This matters because the same model family also offers an eCVT Strong Hybrid. An automatic driving experience is not enough to identify the relevant equipment. Before comparing two versions, write down the full trim, powertrain and gearbox. Otherwise the word automatic can hide a difference that changes the answer to the ADAS question.

The practical document check is straightforward. Find the requested feature, trace that row to the exact variant column and preserve any qualification inside the cell. A tick, a dash and the text 6AT carry different information. Flattening them into a general top-model feature list removes the distinction the manufacturer has made.

The camera is a separate equipment question

The official product page promotes a high-definition surround-view camera with 11 views. In the brochure matrix, its top trim-group entry is a tick, while the ADAS rows specify 6AT. That difference is why seeing a camera demonstration does not establish that the demonstrated vehicle also has the ADAS package.

A useful showroom checklist gives parking visibility and driving assistance separate lines. Ask which features belong to the precise car being demonstrated, then check the intended order against that configuration. A demonstration vehicle can be informative without matching the powertrain or equipment of the vehicle a household is considering.

For a shared family car, this separation also improves the handover conversation. One driver may care most about parking visibility while another expects highway assistance. Write both requirements down. They should not be compressed into a single vague request for the safety package, because the brochure does not treat them as the same item.

What the assistance package actually names

Maruti's launch material identifies automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with curve speed reduction, lane keep assistance, high beam assistance, rear cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring with lane change alert. These are named assistance functions, not a promise that the vehicle will handle every traffic situation.

The brochure expressly keeps responsibility with the driver and says performance can vary with road and driving conditions. Read that alongside the feature names. A manufacturer description of assistance should not be rewritten as autonomous driving, nor should a successful demonstration be taken as proof of performance under every condition.

During a handover, ask for the controls, status indications and relevant manual sections to be explained. Learn how the car tells the driver whether assistance is available or active. Do not create a hazardous traffic situation to test braking intervention. Understanding the display and the limits is a more useful starting point than trying to provoke a response.

Who needs this check

This is particularly relevant to households comparing a top-trim manual, petrol automatic and Strong Hybrid. Those descriptions can sound like alternative routes to the same equipment level, but the ADAS matrix says otherwise. Keep the powertrain preference and the assistance requirement visible as separate decisions when reading the brochure.

The same discipline helps when discussing an existing vehicle. Identify its exact configuration before explaining a feature to another driver. A broad statement about what Victoris can offer may be accurate at model-family level while still being wrong for the car parked outside.
