Maharashtra extends B.Arch and M.Arch admission cut-off to 30 September

Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has moved the final admission cut-off for B.Arch and M.Arch under Technical Education for academic year 2026-27 to 30 September 2026. Circular dated 11 September 2026, signed by Dilip Sardesai, IAS, revises the earlier 15 September cut-off after the Council of Architecture issued matching advice the same day.

CET Cell states that the revised date is the final cut-off for all admissions under the centralised admission process and at institute level. Both CAP round joins and college-level vacant-seat joins for architecture programmes now share one outer deadline.

What students and institutes must finish by 30 September

Every eligible candidate still in CAP rounds or in institute-level vacant-seat rounds must complete admission formalities, fee payment and portal system reporting on or before 30 September 2026. The circular warns that no admission will be treated as valid after that deadline in any circumstance.

Colleges must not confirm late joins beyond the cut-off. System reporting on the CET Cell portal is listed alongside fee payment, so a fee receipt alone is not enough if the portal status stays incomplete.

How this differs from the wider technical cut-off

A separate CET Cell circular dated 7 September 2026 had fixed 14 September 2026 as the revised final admission date for various undergraduate and postgraduate technical courses, citing a Supreme Court order and an AICTE academic calendar. Architecture programmes are now on a later track because COA issued its own revised advice on 11 September 2026.

B.Arch and M.Arch aspirants should ignore the 14 September technical cut-off for their own joining paperwork and work to 30 September instead. Other engineering or pharmacy joins remain under their own circulars.

Architecture students who travel for document verification should book slots early in the final week of September to avoid last-evening bank or network failures.

The circular does not republish seat matrices or choice-filling calendars; candidates with allotments should use the extra days only to finish reporting and fees.

Institutes should update admission notices so parents do not continue to quote the old 15 September architecture cut-off.

For architecture admissions in Maharashtra in 2026-27, finish admission, fees and portal reporting by 30 September 2026, or the seat will not stand.
