Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has moved the final admission cut-off for B.Arch and M.Arch under Technical Education for academic year 2026-27 to 30 September 2026. The circular, dated 11 September 2026 and signed by Dilip Sardesai, IAS, revises the earlier announced last date of 15 September after the Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi, issued a revised circular the same day.
CET Cell states that the revised date is the final cut-off for all admissions, both under the centralised admission process (CAP) and in institute-level rounds. CAP joins and college-level vacant-seat joins for architecture programmes now share one outer deadline.
What students and institutes must finish by 30 September
Every eligible candidate taking part in the ongoing CAP rounds or in institute-level vacant-seat rounds must complete the admission process, fee payment and system reporting on the portal on or before 30 September 2026. The circular states that no admission will be treated as valid after that deadline in any circumstance, and asks students, parents and institutions to take note.
Because system reporting on the portal is listed alongside fee payment, a fee receipt alone does not complete an admission. Candidates who have paid at a college should confirm that their portal status also shows the admission as reported.
How this differs from the wider technical cut-off
A separate CET Cell circular dated 7 September 2026, also signed by Sardesai, had fixed 14 September 2026 as the revised final admission date for various undergraduate and postgraduate technical courses. That circular cited a Supreme Court order dated 12 August 2026 in MA No. 2380/2026 and the revised AICTE academic calendar dated 13 August 2026. It used the same wording: the date would be final for CAP and institute-level rounds, and all admission steps, fees and portal reporting had to be done before it.
Architecture sits apart because it is regulated by the Council of Architecture rather than AICTE. When COA issued its own revised advice on 11 September, CET Cell followed it for B.Arch and M.Arch, giving architecture admissions 16 more days than the 14 September date set for other technical courses. Engineering, pharmacy and other technical courses remain under their own circulars.
What the circular does not change
The 11 September circular is limited to the cut-off date. It does not publish a new seat matrix, add a CAP round or change choice-filling calendars, so candidates who already hold an allotment gain time only to finish reporting and fees. Institutes that had announced the old 15 September architecture cut-off in their own admission notices will need to update them.
The circular is issued in Marathi under reference number 2239 and cites the COA circular of 11 September 2026 as its basis. It is available in the circulars section of the CET Cell website, cetcell.mahacet.org.
For architecture admissions in Maharashtra in 2026-27, admission, fee payment and portal reporting must all be complete by 30 September 2026. The circular states plainly that no admission after that date will be treated as valid, whatever the circumstances.
