Maharashtra CET Cell extends B.Arch and M.Arch admission cutoff to 30 September

The circular cites a Council of Architecture circular dated 11.09.2026 from New Delhi. On the strength of that COA revision, the Cell has withdrawn the previously notified cutoff of 15 September 2026 and fixed 30 September 2026 as the last date of admission. That date is to be treated as the cutoff date for every class of B.Arch and M.Arch entry covered by the Cell, including remaining centralised admission process rounds and institute-level vacant-seat rounds.

This file is an architecture-only admission calendar. It is not the 07.09.2026 technical-education cutoff circular TED-1226/C.R.007/CET/2026/2187 that fixed 14 September 2026 for the wider undergraduate and postgraduate technical programmes. It is also not the 11.09.2026 public notice that invites applications for one Assistant Legal Officer and one Special Work Officer on contract at the Mumbai office. Mixing those three CET Cell files will scramble which clock still applies to architecture students.

What the 11.09.2026 architecture circular actually revises

The operative change is short. For academic year 2026-27, the last date of admission to B.Arch and M.Arch is now 30 September 2026. Candidates who are still inside a CAP round or an institute-level vacant-seat round for those two programmes must finish the admission process, fee payment, and portal system reporting on or before 30 September 2026. The circular says that after the cutoff, no admission will be treated as valid in any circumstance. Students, parents and the concerned institutes are asked to take note of that hard close.

The Cell is not rewriting the entire technical-education calendar. The 14 September 2026 stamp on the 07.09.2026 file remains the statewide close for the other technical programmes that sit under that earlier circular. Architecture is being pulled off the previously notified 15 September architecture-specific stamp and aligned instead to the 11 September COA instruction. Institutes running late B.Arch or M.Arch institutional rounds should plan document verification, fee collection and CAP-portal upload so that every confirmed admission is system-reported before 30 September 2026.

Practical consequences for candidates are equally sharp. A seat allotted or offered late in the architecture cycle is not secure until admission, fee and portal reporting are finished inside the new cutoff. Waiting for a further date extension is not what this circular promises. The file does not reopen a closed CAP round. It only moves the last date on which a completed B.Arch or M.Arch admission can still be treated as valid.

How candidates should use the 30 September architecture stamp

Candidates still chasing a B.Arch or M.Arch seat should diary three linked tasks: complete admission formalities at the allotted or selected college, pay the approved fee, and ensure the college reports the admission on the CAP portal on or before 30 September 2026. Missing any one of those steps can leave an allotment without a finished admission record when the architecture cutoff closes.

Parents and students should not confuse this architecture circular with the Cell's staffing notice of the same date. Questions about the 14 September close for the rest of technical education sit on the already-live 07.09.2026 cutoff circular. Institutes should publish internal B.Arch and M.Arch reporting calendars with enough buffer for portal upload before 30 September 2026. Treating the cutoff as a college-only internal date, without system reporting, is not what the circular allows. The Cell's instruction is that admission, fee payment and system reporting must all be complete on or before the revised final date, and that no admission after the cutoff will be accepted.
