NEW DELHI: Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 is listed for automatic updates until June 2031 in Google's ChromeOS support table. Owners of the 11Q727 detachable should also check the update schedule inside their own device. The deadline is tied to the platform, so a later purchase does not start a fresh support period.

Match the full name before reading the deadline
Google's Lenovo table has separate rows for Chromebook Duet, Chromebook Duet 3 and Chromebook Duet with an 11-inch, ninth-generation designation. These names are close enough to make a casual search misleading. Keep the Duet 3 name and Lenovo's 11Q727 platform reference together when checking an existing device.
Lenovo's specification sheet describes this model as a ChromeOS detachable with a Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor and a 10.95-inch touchscreen. Its folio keyboard uses a detachable connection. That makes it a different machine from a conventional hinged laptop, even though both may be used for browser-based lessons or office documents.
For an Indian household moving this device between study and travel, software support is a useful item in the handover note alongside the keyboard and charger. The purchase date on an invoice can help with ownership records, but it does not replace Google's model-specific update date. Keep the two records for their different purposes.
Check the schedule on the Chromebook
Open Settings from the time area, choose About ChromeOS and then Additional details. Under Update schedule, Google says the device shows the date until which it will receive automatic updates. On a managed machine, the wording may instead indicate that updates are controlled by an administrator.
Record what that screen says before changing settings. If the on-device result appears different from the row you expected, revisit the model identity first. A generic Duet description in a receipt or handover message is not enough to choose between the similarly named entries in Google's list.
Install an available update
Connect to Wi-Fi and return to About ChromeOS. Choose Check for updates; an available update downloads automatically. When prompted, restart to complete installation. Google also recommends connecting to power to avoid interruption, which is useful when the detachable has been left in a drawer and its remaining charge is uncertain.
Someone preparing the Duet 3 for an online class should leave time for that restart before the session begins. The deadline tells you how long the model is scheduled for support; it does not tell you whether the copy of ChromeOS currently installed has already received every available update.
Google's policy explains that the support period runs from the platform release date. It covers updates across the operating system, browser and hardware. Reading the June 2031 row as a fixed schedule avoids turning a general promise of long support into an incorrect claim of fresh coverage from the day a particular owner starts using it.
Keep support life separate from hardware limits
Lenovo lists 4GB and 8GB memory configurations with soldered memory and no upgrade slots. Its storage options are 64GB and 128GB eMMC on the system board. These details matter during a handover because an update deadline says nothing about the actual memory or storage fitted to the individual tablet.
Keep local files in mind when troubleshooting. Google's recovery guidance says recovery removes and reinstalls the operating system and permanently erases local data, including downloads. A routine update check should not be confused with recovery. Back up relevant files before considering that separate procedure for a persistent operating-system problem.
