What the channel label describes

The SB595 has dedicated up-firing drivers as well as its centre channel. The official specification sheet lists a 6.5-inch subwoofer and separates the maximum output rating into 200W for the bar and 240W for the subwoofer, measured at 1% total harmonic distortion. The combined rating is a specification, not a measurement of sound quality in a particular home.

For a living room where the same television handles films, news and streamed music, these are different jobs. Dialogue intelligibility and the effect of a film soundtrack need separate attention. A large total wattage cannot tell a family whether spoken lines will remain comfortable at the listening level they actually use.

The centre driver is especially relevant to that distinction. JBL describes it as a dialogue feature, while the separate subwoofer handles the bass role. That explains the package's division of work without proving that every mix or seating position will sound equally clear. No listening-test claim is being made here.

The television connection matters

The rear connections include HDMI input, an HDMI output with eARC, and optical input. JBL's manual recommends the eARC television connection for its Dolby Atmos setup. It also directs users to enable the relevant HDMI settings and check the source device's audio-output configuration rather than assuming a cable alone completes the setup.

There is a particularly useful instruction for an older television with ARC but no eARC: the manual routes the digital playback device through the soundbar's HDMI input for Atmos. That makes the SB595's own HDMI input significant when planning how a set-top box or streaming player connects to the television.

The practical consequence is that two households could own the same bar and feed it through different signal paths. Before judging a missing effect as a speaker limitation, the source, television port and chosen input need to be understood together. The soundbar's badge does not describe the audio format arriving from every app or external device.

Bluetooth and USB have distinct limits

Bluetooth supports music playback from a phone, but the owner's manual says Dolby Atmos is not supported for Bluetooth streaming. The India product sheet also restricts USB music playback to the US version; USB on other versions is for service. An MP3-format entry in the wider specification table therefore should not be read as an India USB-playback promise.

That distinction is useful in a home where a phone playlist, a television programme and a film from a streaming box all pass through the same equipment. The source selection changes the available experience. A convenient way to play a song is not necessarily the way to carry the film's advertised soundtrack format.

Allow room for the complete package

The bar measures 1000 x 67 x 97mm and the subwoofer 200 x 405 x 250mm. The wireless description refers to their audio link: the manual shows a power connection on each unit. Planning the installation therefore includes space and nearby power for the bass enclosure, not only the shelf beneath the television.
