NEW DELHI: Infinix GT 20 Pro's India variant list pairs 8GB or 12GB of RAM with the same 256GB of storage. The larger RAM entry therefore does not identify a larger storage tier. Check both sides of the configuration label, then match the colour and exact product name before relying on a listing or invoice.

Read the slash as a pair of specifications

The official shop labels its configuration selector “Storage”, but the entries actually combine RAM and storage. The separate specification page resolves that shorthand: its RAM field lists the alternatives, while the ROM field gives the shared storage capacity. Read the field contents, rather than letting the selector heading do all the work.

This is the particular trap in the GT 20 Pro list. Someone looking only at the higher leading number could reasonably think they have selected a larger place to keep games, photos and videos. The official entries do not support that conclusion: the storage portion remains the same.

Google's Android help guide distinguishes storage, which holds files and other data, from memory, which runs apps and the system. Apply that distinction to the GT 20 Pro labels. Keep the quoted hardware capacities separate when asking a seller to confirm the configuration shown on an invoice.

Do not turn the RAM choice into a different gaming platform

Infinix's specification page identifies a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate processor and a Pixelworks X5 Turbo gaming display chip. It lists an AMOLED display with refresh-rate options up to 144Hz, alongside LPDDR5X memory and UFS 3.1 storage.

The page presents those as model specifications, without describing a separate processor or screen upgrade for the higher RAM entry. A configuration comparison should therefore begin with the documented memory difference. It should not quietly attach an unlisted performance tier to the larger number.

The screen's refresh-rate specification also does not establish a guaranteed frame rate in every game. If a claim about game performance matters to you, look for a result tied to the game, settings and software version involved. The RAM label alone cannot supply that missing test.

Our separate GT 30 Pro and GT 30 comparison concerns other members of the GT range. Keep those model names separate from GT 20 Pro when checking hardware or configuration information.

Match the colour as carefully as the memory

The India shop offers Mecha Blue, Mecha Orange and Mecha Silver as colour selections. It shows the colour and RAM/storage pair together in the selected-product description. That combined description is the useful record to compare against a bill or an existing box label.

For an owner sorting out documentation, write the full combination in one place. A photograph of a coloured rear panel is not a RAM specification, and a memory label does not establish colour. This is especially useful when several similar GT listings are open at once.

The shop's selector establishes which configurations are listed; it does not prove that every colour and configuration can be ordered at a particular moment. This guide explains the entries and shared specifications, rather than treating the existence of a selector as a supply promise.

If the problem is lack of space, check storage first

For an existing handset, Google directs users to open Settings, choose Storage and review a category. Settings can vary by manufacturer. That is a more useful starting point for a space complaint than comparing the phone's RAM number with another variant.

Google also distinguishes clearing an app's temporary cache from clearing its storage, which deletes app data. Read the action before confirming it. Keep important files backed up before making changes, and avoid deleting information simply to make the displayed free-space number look better.

For readers checking other Infinix product lists, our XPAD variant report and Smart 8 variant report cover separate devices. Their configurations should not be carried across to the GT 20 Pro.
