VARANASI: IIT (BHU)’s positions page, checked on October 14, carries project vacancies in electronics, computer science, biochemical engineering and pharmaceutical engineering. It records upload dates of October 13, October 12, October 8 and October 5 respectively. The roles have separate qualification requirements and application routes; these are project appointments, not permanent faculty recruitment.
The electronics, field-worker and pharmaceutical notices allow 21 days from advertisement but lack clear issue dates. Applicants should confirm deadlines with project contacts rather than calculate from uploads.
Biochemical notice lists October 18 deadline
The biochemical engineering Junior Research Fellow notice specifies an October 18, 2026 deadline, Rs 37,000 monthly fellowship and an upper age limit of 30, with government-rule relaxation. Its ANRF-funded project concerns biomimetic materials for solid-tumour theranostics. The detailed essential-qualification section accepts MTech in nanoscience and nanotechnology, biotechnology, biochemical engineering or materials science; MSc in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology or zoology; or MPharma. It requires first division, defined as 60 per cent or equivalent grade, and GATE, NET or GPAT qualification.
The linked PDF is labelled “DRAFT ADVERTISEMENT”; applicants should confirm that its terms are final. The project is sanctioned until March 2028 and the advertisement lists a 17-month duration. Small-molecule synthesis, conjugation chemistry, nanomaterials and cell-culture knowledge are desirable. Candidates should email the accompanying application form, with self-attested marksheets and certificates, to rajendra.bce@iitbhu.ac.in. The form asks for academic and examination records, research or professional experience, publications and two referees. The appointment ends with the project.
Electronics and field work use different routes
The electronics vacancy is for one Senior Research Fellow or Postdoctoral Fellow on a telecommunications-backed project developing a test-bed for RIS-enabled joint sensing and communication systems. Pay is Rs 42,000 to Rs 47,000 monthly, depending on experience, plus HRA under applicable norms. The PhD route requires first class and three years’ research experience. The MTech route requires first-class MTech and BTech degrees plus two years’ research experience; the BTech-only route requires first class and two years’ experience. Each route specifies electronics and communication engineering or an allied discipline.
Indian nationals may apply. Applicants must upload a signed prescribed application and supporting documents through the advertisement’s Google Form; email or hard-copy submissions are unnecessary. Wireless physical-layer design, synchronisation and FPGA implementation are desirable skills. The two-page notice cites an age-rule annexure that is not included. Queries: atul.ece@iitbhu.ac.in.
The Field Worker Staff vacancy concerns mobility-resilient LoRaWAN connectivity and edge intelligence. Pay is Rs 24,000 monthly plus HRA. The qualification line accepts MTech, BTech, MCA, MSc or any graduate degree. The age ceiling is 50, with government-prescribed relaxation. Drone flying, printed-circuit-board design and 3D printing are desirable skills. The initial appointment is for one year; contradictory two-year and three-year references to the total project duration need clarification.
Applicants must upload the prescribed application and self-attested documents through the linked form and email hariprabhat.cse@iitbhu.ac.in, copying futureiotprojects@gmail.com. The required subject is “Application for Field-Worker-Oct-2026”. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by email. They must bring original certificates and self-attested copies for verification before interview at the Computer Science and Engineering department. No travel or daily allowance is payable.
Pharmacology research post has its own eligibility
The Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) notice concerns an ICMR-funded pharmacology project researching alcohol use disorder. Applicants need first-class MPharm, MS (Pharm) or MTech (Pharm) in pharmacology, or a second-class qualification in those programmes with a PhD in pharmacology. The age ceiling is 35, with government-rule relaxation. Monthly pay is Rs 56,000 plus 20 per cent HRA for the first two years, with a five per cent salary increase in the third. The project runs for three years. The initial one-year appointment is renewable subject to performance and project requirements.
Candidates should email the enclosed application format and self-attested documents to ksairam.phe@iitbhu.ac.in, with the subject “Application for Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in ICMR funded project”. GATE, GPAT or CSIR-UGC-NET qualification, including lectureship, is desirable, as is experience in animal handling, molecular studies, histopathology, laboratory screening and scientific writing.
Other local research openings have separate processes: IIT-BHU’s Clean Rivers laboratory posts have an October 29 deadline, while BHU’s four agriculture research posts use October 30 walk-in interviews. Those earlier opportunities are distinct from the four project notices described here.
