Monday holds the full observance because sunrise falls inside Tritiya. That is the locked timing logic for 14 September in Varanasi, not a floating “around Teej” line.

Puja goods — sindoor, bangles, red cloth, bel leaves, kalash sets — move through neighbourhood markets in the day before and on the morning of the fast. Shiva temples, including those in the Kashi Vishwanath belt and neighbourhood shrines, take the crowd.
