GURUGRAM: Seven government primary schools in Gurugram district, including Arjun Nagar and Jamalpur, are listed for new names and classroom rules in a Haryana School Education Department notification published on Tuesday, October 27. The document sets out English medium teaching in Class 1, separate Hindi and English sections from Class 2 onwards, and different fee provisions for the two school categories.

The underlying notification is dated October 7, 2026. Its forwarding endorsement, addressed to education officers and the heads of the schools concerned, is dated October 27. The new development is that circulation and publication, rather than a fresh order signed on Tuesday. The department's publication page gives the date but no publication time.

Which Gurugram schools are listed

Five local schools appear in the category for primary schools attached to PM SHRI or Chief Minister Excellence schools. They are to use the name Government Chief Minister Excellence & Early English Primary School, abbreviated in the list as GCMEEEPS.

Two others, Jamalpur and Arjun Nagar, appear in the category for primary schools attached to Model Sanskriti senior secondary schools. Their new designation is Government Model Sanskriti Primary School, or GMSPS. The list identifies each institution by its existing school code, allowing families to distinguish the named school from another institution in the same locality.

Ghamroj Alipur12373GCMEEEPS Ghamroj Alipur
Jamalpur12112GMSPS Jamalpur

The Gurugram entries are spread across the Farrukhnagar, Pataudi, Sohna and Gurgaon blocks as described in the document. Arjun Nagar is recorded under its existing girls' primary school name. The notification's common provisions say all the listed institutions will function as coeducational schools from the date of issue.

Teaching medium and fees follow separate rules

The language provision is specific: Class 1 must be conducted in English medium. From Class 2 onwards, the schools must have one section in Hindi medium and one in English medium. That distinction matters for parents reading the new names, because the order expressly retains a Hindi section for the later primary classes.

For the five GCMEEEPS schools, the order prohibits fees or financial contributions apart from prescribed regular funds. It does not provide an amount for those regular funds. Families should therefore read the fee clause itself rather than treat the new designation as a statement that every possible school contribution has been abolished.

For the two GMSPS schools, the notification says Vidyalay Vikas Nidhi will be collected as already applicable to Government Model Sanskriti Primary Schools, starting in the 2027-28 academic session. It gives no rupee amount in this document. The stated start session is therefore the relevant date for that particular provision.

What the notification changes next

Teachers are to be deployed through a screening process along the lines used for Model Sanskriti, PM SHRI and Chief Minister Excellence schools. No schoolwise staffing list, recruitment date or admission timetable accompanies this notification. It also expressly says the primary schools are not being designated as PM SHRI schools, a designation made by the Government of India.

Parents can check the department's October 27 publication and its seven-page notification against their child's school code. The local entries are on pages 1, 2 and 5; the common rules and forwarding endorsement are on pages 6 and 7.
