CBSE asks schools to run Yuva for Viksit Bharat activities through October

Circular Acad-60/2026, issued by CBSE Academics on 16 September 2026, asks every affiliated school to mark Yuva for Viksit Bharat during September and October 2026. The circular frames the programme around nation building, patriotism and Sewa, and asks schools to run a set of suggestive activities with students.

The list is practical rather than open-ended. Schools are asked to hold an art workshop on the Yuva for Viksit Bharat theme, run morning-assembly biography or storytelling sessions on the freedom struggle and freedom fighters, and organise essay, painting and poster competitions. Group discussions on India progress across fields, a tree plantation drive under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, and awareness workshops on national technology initiatives are also named. Schools may add any other activity that fits the same brief.

Talkathon reminder and the 31 October report

Acad-60 also asks schools to encourage students to join the CBSE Talkathon on #NashaMuktYuva for Viksit Bharat scheduled for 20 September 2026. The circular notes that a separate Talkathon circular is being issued, so Acad-60 does not reprint the stream timings.

After the September-October events, schools must submit a brief report on the activities latest by 31 October 2026. The circular gives a Google form link, forms.gle/tMbC631AsvoxEDyx5, for that submission. Schools are told to capture the events in detail before they file the form.

Who must circulate the circular

The circular is signed by Dr Praggya M Singh, Professor and Director (Academics). The copy list includes Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, Sainik Schools Society, state education directors and CBSE regional officers, among others. Regional officers are asked to send the circular to affiliated schools in their regions.

For a school calendar, the working window is September and October 2026. The only hard reporting date printed in Acad-60 is 31 October 2026. Schools that already plan assembly competitions or plantation drives can map those events to the suggestive list and keep photo or attendance notes ready for the Google form.

Acad-60 does not replace exam or affiliation notices. It is an activities circular for a two-month programme. Principals who want students on the Talkathon stream should still follow the separate Talkathon letter for the 6:00 PM IST slot on 20 September, while using Acad-60 for the wider September-October activity plan and the 31 October report.

The suggestive list is not a scored contest run by CBSE headquarters. Schools design and evaluate the local events themselves, then file the brief report on the Google form by 31 October 2026. Keeping simple records of dates, student numbers and activity type will make that form easier to complete.

Tree plantation under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam is named as a distinct line item, so schools that already schedule monsoon or post-monsoon plantation can count that drive toward Yuva for Viksit Bharat if they document it for the October report. Art and assembly storytelling items can sit inside existing CCA periods.

Directorates on the copy list are expected to push the circular downward. Affiliated schools that miss an email from their regional office can still download Acad-60/2026 from cbseacademic.nic.in and start September activities without waiting for a second reminder. The Talkathon on 20 September remains a separate stream event under its own circular.
