CBSE Talkathon on Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat airs 20 September at 6 pm

CBSE has asked affiliated schools to join a live Talkathon on the theme Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat on Sunday, 20 September 2026. Letter No. CBSE/M&PR/E-161697/2026, dated 16 September 2026, fixes the start at 6:00 PM IST and the duration at 45 minutes. The session will stream on the Board official YouTube channel at youtube.com/@cbsehq1905.

The letter links the Talkathon to the Government of India campaign Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan, launched on 2 August 2026. That campaign is described as a nationwide drive against substance abuse, with awareness work planned across the next 100 Sundays and young people at the centre of the effort.

Panel, questions and social handles

The Talkathon will take questions received from students on X and Instagram. The panel is to include experts and representatives from the Narcotics Control Bureau, AIIMS New Delhi and CBSE-affiliated schools. Discussion themes listed in the letter include substance-abuse prevention, responsible choices, peer pressure, early intervention, and the role of schools and families.

Principals are asked to encourage students to send questions, messages, posters or short video clips on X and Instagram from 16 to 20 September 2026. The letter specifies the hashtags #NashaMuktYuva and #CBSETalkathon, and asks students to tag CBSE handles on X (cbseindia29) and Instagram (cbse_hq_1929).

What schools are expected to do before 6 pm on 20 September

The Board wants heads of schools to treat the Talkathon as a student-facing live event rather than a closed staff briefing. Schools can screen the YouTube stream in assembly halls or classrooms and can keep the 16 to 20 September window open for student posts that use the two hashtags. The letter does not set a separate registration form for watching the stream.

A parallel Academic circular, Acad-61/2026, carries the same Talkathon title on the CBSE Academic site. Schools that track circulars through cbseacademic.nic.in will find the matching PDF there. The operative schedule in the M&PR letter remains 20 September 2026, Sunday, 6:00 PM IST, for 45 minutes.

Students who want a question considered during the live hour should post it before the stream begins, using the hashtags named in the letter. Schools that record attendance at the screening can later fold that note into any report they file under the separate Yuva for Viksit Bharat activity circular for September and October.

The M&PR letter is addressed to all principals and heads of CBSE-affiliated schools and institutions. It describes the Talkathon as interactive rather than a one-way lecture, with student questions collected in advance on the two named social platforms. Schools that cannot gather students in one hall can still share the YouTube link for home viewing at 6:00 PM IST.

The Talkathon is therefore a fixed evening slot on 20 September, backed by a multi-agency panel and a four-day social question window that opened on 16 September.
