The 4th National Summit on Facilitating School-to-Work Transition will now run on 26 and 27 October 2026, not on the earlier 23 and 24 September dates. A CBSE Skill Education notification dated 3 September 2026, signed by Dr Biswajit Saha, Professor and Director (Skill Education), cites administrative reasons for the shift and keeps the venue at Dr Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC), 15 Janpath Road, Windsor Place, New Delhi 110001.
The note continues Circular Skill-42/2026 dated 17 June 2026. Schools and participants who already registered for the September slot do not need to register again. Their existing registrations remain valid for the October dates.
Registration window
Citing requests from schools, CBSE reopened the registration link for new applicants and extended the last date for registration up to 15 September 2026. That fresh-registration window has now closed, and the 3 September notification does not mention any further opening.

What the summit is about
Skill-42/2026 describes the summit as a joint effort of CBSE and the Sahodaya School Complexes of Delhi and NCR. It is meant to bring together school leaders, educators, industry experts and policymakers to discuss how schools can better prepare students for life beyond the classroom. Sessions are to cover innovative teaching practices, emerging approaches to assessment, digital integration in education and school models that have worked in promoting skill education.
The June circular also invited case-based papers and posters from educators in CBSE schools on success stories and challenges in running skill subjects. That track had its own calendar: abstracts by 31 July, selection intimation by 16 August and full papers by 31 August 2026. The rescheduling note does not reopen those deadlines.
Day plan and seats
Under Skill-42, summit sessions run from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with reporting and seating between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. There is no participation fee. Seats are limited and allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, and the circular asks registered participants to make sure they attend so that they do not block places others could have used. Since the notification keeps all other Skill-42 terms, these timings now apply to 26 and 27 October.
The circular lists the takeaways CBSE expects participants to carry back: insight into emerging trends in school education, practical strategies for teaching and learning, a chance to work with educators, industry leaders and policymakers, and exposure to practices already running in other schools. It specifically invites principals and heads of affiliated schools to attend.
Who has been told
Copies of the notification go to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, the Delhi Directorate of Education, Sainik Schools Society, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, the Army and Navy education societies and CBSE regional offices, with a request to pass the new dates to all schools under them. Principals who nominated staff for the September dates will need to confirm that those nominees are free on 26 and 27 October.
