NEW DELHI: Ampere's warranty policy lists Nexus battery cover of 60 months or 75,000 km, whichever comes first, for scooters sold from 1 July 2025. Nexus models sold earlier have a shorter listed battery term. The current Nexus EX+ product page separately advertises 5 years or 75,000 km for the battery.
| Nexus sale period or component | Published warranty limit, whichever comes first |
|---|---|
| Battery, January 2023 to December 2024 sales | 36 months or 30,000 km |
| Battery, January to June 2025 sales | 36 months or 30,000 km |
| Battery, sales from 1 July 2025 | 60 months or 75,000 km |
| Other warranted parts, including motor, charger and controller | 36 months or 30,000 km |
The invoice date belongs beside the model name
Ampere counts warranty from sale to the first owner. Its policy also says replacement parts receive the balance of the original term. Covered repairs go through the authorised network, and the policy requires presentation of the vehicle within 48 hours of defect detection after informing Ampere.
That date split matters more than a new advertising headline for an existing Nexus owner. Start a service folder with the sale invoice and odometer record, then add the job card describing the fault. This is a practical way to organise a claim, rather than a promise that every reported problem will qualify.
Keep the battery, motor and charger descriptions separate when explaining a fault. A scooter that will not accept charge has a symptom; it does not yet have a confirmed failed component. A clear account of what happened lets the workshop record the problem without the owner needing to diagnose it in advance.
Battery life and warranty answer different questions
The Nexus EX+ page pairs a 3 kWh battery with a claimed 136 km IDC range. It lists 2.5 hours for charging from 20% to 80%, a 5 kW peak motor and a 93 km/h top speed. These are manufacturer specifications, rather than measurements from a road test conducted for this report.
Ampere also promotes a battery life figure of 2,00,000 km. That is a separate product claim from the warranty limit. The product page does not turn the larger distance into an unconditional replacement undertaking. Keeping the two labels attached to their respective figures avoids treating a longevity claim as the length of contractual cover.
The model's family scooter packaging deserves attention alongside the battery discussion. Ampere specifies a 765 mm seat height, 170 mm ground clearance and four riding modes. These details describe the everyday vehicle an owner needs to keep running, rather than just the battery component discussed in a warranty headline.
For product background, our Ampere electric scooter price list: Reo Vyb Rs 71,999 to Nexus EX+ Rs 1,35,999 covers its place in the range. The Konarc, Rizta, Chetak and iQube: service and warranty compared is a separate reference for the wider catalogue. Neither establishes the sale date or claim eligibility of a particular scooter.
Build a record around the actual fault
The warranty excludes wear items and damage linked to matters including misuse, flooding and unauthorised work. Ampere decides whether an eligible part needs repair or replacement. Transport costs are excluded. These are the company's published conditions, and this article does not decide the outcome of an individual dispute.
For a household sharing a Nexus, an agreed place for invoices and workshop records can prevent useful information being scattered between riders. Note who noticed the symptom and when, and keep the workshop's own findings distinct from the household's observations. That distinction is particularly useful if the scooter behaves differently when it reaches the service bay.
A general warranty comparison can help explain ownership questions across brands. Our How to prepare an Ambrane Charge R65 6-month warranty claim provides that wider context. For a Nexus claim, however, the sale record and component involved remain the starting documents. Preserve the written assessment so any follow-up refers to the same reported fault.
A dated workshop record also gives another household rider a clear account of what was reported and what work was authorised.
