Reo Vyb and Magnus Neo
The Reo Vyb at Rs 71,999 is the cheapest model by a wide margin. Ampere sells it as a scooter that needs no licence and no registration, with a real-world range of more than 80 km and a battery life of 1,00,000 km. Those claims are Ampere's, and the homepage card does not list a top speed.
The Magnus Neo at Rs 90,999 lists 125 km of IDC range, a battery life of 1,70,000 km and a 777 mm seat height. It costs Rs 19,000 more than the Reo Vyb.
Magnus GMax and the Intellipack versions
The Magnus GMax costs Rs 1,02,999. Ampere calls it the family scooter and lists 142 km of IDC range, a 3.0 kWh battery, a 33-litre boot and a battery life of 2,00,000 km. The GMax page says EMIs start from Rs 2,005 a month with interest rates from 5.75 per cent, subject to terms.
The Intellipack version costs Rs 7,000 more at Rs 1,09,999 and adds what Ampere describes as more than 30 intelligent features. The range and battery life are the same as on the standard GMax.
Nexus EX+ at the top
The Nexus EX+ at Rs 1,29,999 is the performance model, with a stated 136 km IDC range, a 2,00,000 km battery life and an 18 degree gradeability. Ampere says it holds five national records. We covered its price and range in our Ampere Nexus EX+ price report.
The Nexus EX+ Intellipack costs Rs 6,000 more at Rs 1,35,999 and lists a 5 kW motor and the same 30-plus intelligent features. The homepage card does not repeat the range for this version.
The dearest Ampere costs Rs 64,000 more than the cheapest, or 88.9 per cent more.
What each model costs per kilometre of range
Dividing the starting price by the stated range gives a rough value measure, though the Reo Vyb's figure is a real-world claim and the others are IDC test numbers. The Magnus Neo works out to about Rs 728 per km, the Magnus GMax and its Intellipack version to about Rs 725 and Rs 775, and the Nexus EX+ to about Rs 956. The Reo Vyb works out to about Rs 900 per km at the 80 km claim. This is our own arithmetic, not an Ampere figure.
The Magnus GMax gives the most range per rupee among the IDC-rated models, a hair ahead of the Magnus Neo. The Intellipack versions add features rather than range, so their extra cost buys the connected functions Ampere lists, not a longer ride.
