MUMBAI: Greaves Electric Mobility's Ampere brand now lists the Nexus EX+ electric scooter on its official website at Rs 1,29,999, while a version with the company's Intellipack connected features costs Rs 1,35,999 (price as of 6 October 2026, 2:30 AM IST).
Ampere lists the same price for Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Karnataka and all other states, which makes comparison easier. The page does not describe the figure as ex-showroom or on-road, but it does say that mandatory accessories cost extra. The on-road price will therefore be higher once those accessories, registration and insurance are added.
Motor, battery and range
The headline figure is a 5 kW peak motor. Ampere says this mid-mounted motor takes the Nexus EX+ to a top speed of 93 km/h and lets it climb gradients of up to 18 degrees. The company also claims the scooter set a record by towing a 2-tonne pickup truck, which it uses in its marketing to make a point about torque.
The battery is a 3 kWh unit using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry. Ampere quotes an IDC range of 136 km and a 0 to 80 percent charging time of 3 hours 10 minutes. IDC figures are measured under test conditions, so daily range in city traffic, with a pillion or on flyovers, will usually be lower.
LFP cells are generally heavier than the NMC cells many rivals use, but they tolerate heat well and last longer. Ampere claims a battery life of 2,00,000 km and offers a battery warranty of five years or 75,000 km. That warranty figure is the one buyers should hold the dealer to, rather than the lifetime claim.
Frame, cluster and practicality
Ampere says the Nexus EX+ uses a dual-frame steel chassis made of SPFH 590 steel and calls it four times stronger, without spelling out the comparison. The company says the frame handles daily loads of 200 kg.
The instrument cluster is a 6.2-inch PMVA display, and there are four riding modes. Ground clearance is 170 mm, seat height is 765 mm and Ampere quotes 263 mm of floorboard space, which is useful for riders who carry shopping bags or a gas cylinder on the footboard.
The two colours listed on the official page are Carbon Knight and Steel Grey.
What Intellipack adds for Rs 6,000
The Rs 1,35,999 Intellipack version is the same scooter with more than 30 connected features that Ampere says are powered by its Nxg.io platform. The page highlights geo-fencing, which sends an alert when the scooter moves outside a set area, and live location sharing.
For families where more than one person uses the scooter, or for anyone who parks on the street, geo-fencing and tracking can be worth the extra money. Buyers should still ask whether any of these features need a paid subscription after the first year, as the website does not say.
How it compares and what to ask the dealer
The Nexus EX+ enters a crowded part of the market. Electric two-wheeler sales have been growing quickly this year, as shown by TVS Motor's September numbers, where electric two-wheeler sales rose 110 percent. Ola Electric is also pushing its third-generation S1 range, which we covered in our report on Ola S1 3rd Gen prices and November deliveries.
At about Rs 1.3 lakh, the Nexus EX+ sits below the Rs 1.5 lakh ex-factory price ceiling that decides eligibility under the central PM E-DRIVE scheme, though being under the ceiling alone does not make a model eligible. Ampere's page does not say whether the listed price already reflects any PM E-DRIVE incentive. Buyers should ask the dealer directly and check that any incentive is shown on the invoice.
It is also worth asking about the price of the mandatory accessories, the cost of a home charger if it is sold separately, and the nearest Ampere service point. Range claims mean little if the service centre is an hour away.
The full price list and specifications are on Ampere's Nexus EX+ page and Nexus EX+ Intellipack page.
