VARANASI: Tata Memorial Centre issued a notice on Thursday, October 29, 2026, inviting Indian nationals to a November 3 walk-in interview for one medical officer position at its Varanasi cancer hospitals. Eligible doctors must report at Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre in Sunder Bagiya, BHU campus, between 9:30 am and 11 am IST on Tuesday.
The position is in surgical oncology and is described as a common post for neuro surgery and paediatric surgery. It covers Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre. The specified qualification is an MBBS degree recognised by the National Medical Commission, with preference for candidates who have oncology experience.
Applicants should prepare their original certificates and the required copies before travelling. The interview venue is the Office of the Dean (Academics), on the fifth floor of the DNT Block at the Sunder Bagiya centre. The notice requires physical attendance and says an online interview will not be conducted.
One post with an initial six month tenure
The official notice, VAR/ACA/47/2026, sets monthly consolidated pay at Rs 1,11,132. The initial fixed appointment can run for up to six months. An extension depends on the centre's requirements, so candidates should assess the offer as a time limited engagement when deciding whether to attend.
The maximum age is 45 years, with relaxations of five years for SC and ST candidates, three years for OBC candidates and ten years for persons with disabilities. Both age and experience will be assessed on the interview date. Applicants should therefore check their eligibility against November 3 rather than the date the advertisement was issued.
The advertised department and the qualification requirement should be read together. Although the post title names two surgical fields, the qualification row specifies an NMC recognised MBBS degree. Oncology experience is identified separately as a preference. The notice does not announce separate vacancies for each of the two fields.

What applicants should bring
The document checklist includes a bio-data, the Class 10 passing certificate, MBBS degree and Medical Council registration certificate. Candidates to whom it applies must also carry their FMGE certificate. The notice asks for experience certificates obtained after MBBS, allowing the selection team to examine the professional experience claimed by the applicant.
Identity documents are also part of the checklist: copies of Aadhaar and PAN are required. Applicants already employed elsewhere should check the requirement for a no-objection certificate from their present employer, where applicable. Four passport size colour photographs with a white background complete the listed documents. Originals and the required copies should be carried together.
Allow for a possible second day
The interview may be scheduled for the following day depending on how many candidates appear. The centre expressly asks applicants to come prepared for that possibility. Doctors travelling to Varanasi should consider that condition when arranging their return journey, rather than assuming the selection process will necessarily finish on November 3.
A selected candidate may need to join immediately, subject to being found medically fit. The centre retains the right to cancel the advertisement or change the number of posts. The recruitment notice places legal jurisdiction for any related dispute in Varanasi.
The hospital's official contact page locates the interview centre near Nariya Gate in BHU campus and separately lists Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital at Old Loco Colony, Shivpurwa. Use the Sunder Bagiya venue printed in this advertisement when planning attendance. The hospital's published general contact number is 0542-6917700.
