MUMBAI: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles is selling the Aeris compact sedan at an introductory ex-showroom range of Rs 5.29 lakh to Rs 9.74 lakh, according to the price band published on the official Aeris product page and the group's newsroom note on the launch. The Tata group newsroom pegs the petrol start at Rs 5.29 lakh and the iCNG start at Rs 6.29 lakh, both introductory and ex-showroom.

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, said the sedan remains "one of the most timeless expressions of the car" and that Aeris is meant for buyers who treat the car as an expression of progress as well as a daily tool. The model is positioned for private customers rather than as a fleet-first product.

Powertrains and cabin equipment

Aeris uses a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine with a five-speed manual or AMT, and twin-cylinder iCNG options that the company says keep boot space usable. The newsroom copy highlights ventilated AeroLux leatherette seats, dual integrated screens, a 26.03 cm HD touchscreen, a 12.7 cm digital cluster, a dual smartphone deck with wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, iRA connected features, automatic climate control, rear vents and 65W Type-C chargers. Boot volume is listed at 419 litres.

Safety items called out include six airbags as standard, ESP, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, hill hold, ISOFIX anchors, a Blind View Monitor, a MultiView digital video recorder and a 360-degree surround camera with 2D and 3D views. Auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and a rear defogger are also listed. iCNG variants add leak detection and related CNG safety hardware in the company's description.

How to read the introductory tag

The Rs 5.29 lakh to Rs 9.74 lakh band is introductory ex-showroom. On-road prices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru or any other city will add registration, insurance and local charges. The product page marks the range as introductory, so the figures can change when the introductory window ends, and buyers should ask for the validity date in writing.

Variant names on the Tata ecosystem include Smart through Accomplished trims in petrol and iCNG, with AMT on selected lines. The cleanest way to compare is to fix the fuel type and gearbox first, then take the ex-showroom and on-road quotes for that exact code.

What is still for the dealer to confirm

Neither the newsroom note nor the product schema publishes a city-wise waiting period. Festive demand for compact sedans is usually firm around Navratri and Diwali, so allocation dates matter as much as the sticker. Ask for the invoice month, colour lock and whether the introductory price is tied to delivery or only to booking.

Aeris replaces the older Tigor line in Tata's personal-buyer sedan pitch, but the company does not print a scrap value or exchange table on the launch note. Any exchange benefit will be a dealer or festival scheme on top of the ex-showroom number, not part of the Rs 5.29 lakh base itself.

Compact sedans remain a deliberate choice in a market that has tilted toward SUVs. Buyers who want a lower roofline, a proper boot opening and simpler parking envelopes are the Aeris audience Tata is describing in its personal-buyer language.

Finance quotes should separate the introductory ex-showroom from add-ons such as extended warranty, accessories and handling fees. A clean comparison against other compact sedans only works when every quote uses the same city and the same add-on set.

Paint and dual-tone roofs on the Aeris gallery are part of the personal-expression pitch Tata is making. Confirm which dual-tone combinations are available in your city before locking a festive delivery slot, because popular colours clear first.

Dealers may also quote handling and logistics fees that never appear on the national product page, so insist on a single total payable figure before any token is paid.
