The Selection Committee has issued the tentative Round II online counselling schedule for the M.Pharm course for 2026-27. Registration and payment open at 10:00 AM on 22 September 2026 and close at 5:00 PM on 23 September 2026. Choice filling and locking begin at 10:00 AM on 24 September 2026 and run until 5:00 PM on 26 September 2026.

The final result of the second round allotment is listed for 28 September 2026 for general ranks 001 to 1371. Candidates may download the provisional allotment order from 29 September 2026 until 3:00 PM on 1 October 2026. Reporting must be completed on or before 1 October 2026 by 5:00 PM.

Fees, vacancies and who may enter Round 2

Candidates pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 500 online through debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI. Those who already registered in Round 1 need not pay again. Candidates who did not participate or did not join in Round 1 may still enter this counselling. Vacancy positions will be shown on the official websites.

A tentative Round 2 vacancy list dated 22 September shows three seats left in government colleges: two in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Madurai Medical College and one in Pharmacognosy at Madras Medical College. Most of the remaining seats are in self-financing pharmacy colleges across the state, in specialities including Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Regulatory Affairs.

Admission is by online counselling on the basis of rank with the rule of reservation. Options once given cannot be changed later. There is no re-allotment within self-financing institutions under the instructions printed for this round.

How choice locking works

The online procedure in the annexure says candidates log in with the user ID, email ID or exam number and password created at application, pay the processing fee, and are then taken to choice entry. Seats are shown for the candidate's community category. Choices can be added, moved or removed until locking. Locking needs two confirmations and an OTP sent to the mobile number given in the application. After locking, choices cannot be added, edited or deleted, and candidates should print the locked list. Options not locked in time are locked automatically.

Seats are allotted after the last date for choices, in rank order and by the highest preference available under the rule of reservation. The list of allotted candidates is published on www.tnmedicalselection.net.

Upgradation risk and reporting paperwork

Any candidate who opts for upgradation from a Round 1 allotted seat in Round 2 will have to vacate that seat and cannot claim to retain it. At reporting, candidates must produce original certificates in person at the allotted college, pay tuition fee before downloading the provisional allotment order where required, and submit a self-declaration accepting forfeiture if suppression of facts is found later.

To download the allotment order, selected candidates pay Rs 5,000 online for government and self-financing colleges. This is adjusted against the tuition fee, and the balance is paid at the college at joining. The tuition fee is not refunded if the candidate discontinues or does not join. Colleges will verify the original B.Pharm degree or provisional certificate, all B.Pharm mark sheets, Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council registration, community certificate, nativity certificate where claimed, proof of date of birth and, for graduates of other universities, an eligibility certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University.

A candidate who does not report to the head of the allotted institution by the stated date and time will have the selection cancelled without further notice, and requests for re-allotment or transfer of college will not be considered. Candidates must not share their login ID, password or OTP.
