SSC One Time Registration creates the candidate profile used before filling an examination application on the commission's website. The official 2026 Selection Posts notice documents four parts: Personal Details, Password Creation, Additional Details and Declaration. Start through Login or Register on ssc.gov.in, prepare identity and Class 10 records, and remember that completing OTR does not itself submit an application for an examination.
| Registration stage | What to prepare |
|---|---|
| Personal Details | Identity, Class 10 certificate and contact details |
| Password Creation | Access to the registered contact channels |
| Additional Details | Category, nationality, addresses and applicable disability details |
| Declaration | Review the complete profile before submission |
This guide uses Annexure IV of the official Phase XIV 2026 Selection Posts notice, including its registration instructions and specimen pages. It explains the registration workflow, not a claim that this recruitment window remains open. For an examination application, its own current notice determines eligibility, fees and deadlines.
What documents are needed for SSC OTR registration?
Keep a working contact number and email address ready for verification and communication. The notice says they are used for OTP verification and may also be needed to retrieve a password or registration number. Use contact details you can continue accessing, rather than an address temporarily borrowed only to complete the form.
The identity section asks about Aadhaar. The notice describes Aadhaar based authentication and requires prescribed documents when candidates cannot authenticate through that system. It also lists alternative identity numbers, including voter identity card, PAN, passport, driving licence, school or college identity card and employer identity card. Follow the route displayed for your circumstances.
For the document upload route, the instructions specify proof of name, date of birth, address and gender, plus a photograph. The accepted examples differ across these categories. A document that proves one detail should not automatically be assumed sufficient for every other category. Check the relevant list before beginning uploads.
Your matriculation certificate is central to the personal and education fields. Prepare the board name, roll number and year of passing. The instructions also require the candidate's name, date of birth and parents' names to match that record, with a separate place to indicate a changed name where applicable. A consistent record reduces avoidable mismatches during later scrutiny.
How to complete the four SSC registration stages
Open the commission's official website and use Login or Register. The notice identifies Personal Details as the first stage. Some critical fields must be entered twice for verification. The instructions say a mismatch is indicated in red, so correct the underlying detail rather than copying an error into both fields merely to remove the warning.
Enter the Class 10 details carefully, then the highest educational qualification requested in the profile. These are different questions. The school board and passing year identify the matriculation record; the highest qualification describes further education. Later examination applications may ask for additional qualifications or experience relevant to a particular post.
The notice describes saving the basic information, confirming contact details and receiving a registration number. It then provides for first login, password change when prompted and another login using the changed password. Store the registration number securely and avoid relying only on a temporary browser session to preserve it.
Additional Details covers category, nationality, contact information where applicable, a visible identification mark, benchmark disability details and permanent and present addresses. Complete the fields that apply to you from the supporting record. A profile entry alone does not prove entitlement to a reservation or relaxation under an examination notice.
Before final submission, use the preview to review the entire profile. The instructions describe a draft preview, final submission and OTP completion, followed by the declaration. Read the declaration and ensure that what you confirm is supported by your documents. The commission warns that incorrect information can lead to cancellation of candidature.
Is an SSC registration number the same as an exam application?
No. The official notice separates Part A, One Time Registration, from Part B, the examination application. Registration creates the reusable profile. A candidate must still choose the relevant examination and complete its application process, including any required photograph, signature, post preferences, declarations and fee steps specified in that notice.
After completing OTR, check the examination dashboard and the applicable notice before assuming an application is submitted. Keep the final application record separately from the registration details. A saved profile or draft preview establishes a different stage from a successfully submitted examination form.
The 2026 notice says basic registration information is deleted if the registration process is not completed within 14 days. That is a rule about an unfinished registration in this documented workflow. It is not the closing date for every SSC examination, and it should not be used to calculate an examination application deadline.
For correction questions, inspect the current profile controls and examination notice rather than assuming all fields can always be changed. The notice advises caution even where registration data can be edited. Changes to a reusable profile and changes to an already submitted examination application may involve different controls or a separately notified correction window.

For SSC registration, the immediate checklist is documentary consistency, access to contact channels, a completed declaration and a separate check that the intended examination application has actually been submitted.
