NEW DELHI: Skoda's Kodiaq page lists four labour-free services in the first two years, alongside four years or 1,00,000 km of standard warranty and four years of roadside assistance. Owners should record these as separate benefits. The labour-free wording does not establish that every item on a service invoice is included.
| Benefit | What the official pages state |
|---|---|
| Labour-free services | 4 in the first 2 years |
| Standard warranty | 4 years or 1,00,000 km |
| Roadside assistance | 4 years, available around the clock across India |
| Optional maintenance plans | 2-year and 4-year plans advertised |
| Extended warranty headline | Up to 6 years or 1,50,000 km, whichever is earlier, from purchase |
Start with the Kodiaq delivery documents
Keep the purchase invoice, vehicle identification details, delivery record and any plan certificates in an ownership folder. Ask the supplying workshop to identify the labour-free visits applicable to the car and explain their scheduling. The public model page gives the count and time window, but owners still need the schedule associated with their vehicle.
Do not turn four labour-free services into a promise of four years of free maintenance. The time periods on the Kodiaq page are different. Before a visit, request an estimate showing the labour benefit and any remaining charges separately. That makes it possible to see how the advertised entitlement has been applied.
Record the exact Kodiaq configuration
The current India range comprises Lounge, Sportline and Selection L&K, with a 2.0 TSI petrol engine and seven-speed DSG. The page identifies Lounge as a five-seater and the other versions as seven-seaters. It also places ADAS on Sportline and Selection L&K. These differences make a precise vehicle description useful when recording a complaint or checking equipment.
For example, an owner asking about an assistance-system warning should identify the variant and describe what the display showed. A description copied from a different Kodiaq trim may introduce equipment the car does not have. Keep the equipment sheet with the service paperwork so that the workshop discussion begins with the correct configuration.
Our Kodiaq Lounge and Selection L&K comparison covers the range distinction, while the Kodiaq Side Assist explainer examines a particular assistance feature. Both are separate from the service entitlement printed in the ownership documents.
Warranty and maintenance need different questions
The model page advertises standard warranty at four years or 1,00,000 km. For a suspected defect, give the workshop the symptom, date, odometer reading and supporting records, then request an assessment under the applicable warranty terms. The headline period alone cannot establish whether a particular repair will be accepted.
For routine upkeep, ask which scheduled operations are due and which charges fall within a maintenance plan, if one was purchased. Skoda's maintenance page advertises two-year and four-year plans. It describes cashless service, protection against rising parts and labour costs, and use at authorised Skoda dealers across India. Obtain the actual inclusion list before assuming a repair belongs in the package.
The plan page also says a maintenance plan may transfer to the new owner when the car is resold, but cannot move to another car. That distinction matters if the Kodiaq changes hands within the plan period. A seller should supply the certificate and remaining entitlement, and the next owner should have the vehicle details checked against it.
Read an extension as total cover from purchase
Skoda's extended-warranty page advertises up to six years or 1,50,000 km, whichever is earlier, measured from the purchase date. The wording is a total coverage horizon, so owners should not automatically add the advertised years to the original term. Ask for a written end date, distance limit, eligibility and exclusions for the particular extension offered.
The same page contains a price-download label tied to cars sold during 2025. This guide therefore quotes no extension premium for a current Kodiaq. An old price file can be useful for identifying a document, but it does not verify the amount applicable to another purchase period. Keep the current quotation with the proposed contract.
Save assistance details before a journey
The Kodiaq page specifies four years of roadside assistance. Skoda's assistance page lists 1800 209 4646 and 1800 102 6464 as its assistance numbers. Save the official details with the vehicle records and check the applicable benefits before travel. For related ownership context, see our Slavia cover explainer.
At collection, keep the itemised bill even where an entitlement reduces the amount payable. A record of the work completed is useful at the next service and gives a future owner more information than a payment receipt alone.
