To download an SBI home loan interest certificate, the bank's published Internet Banking instructions point to e-Services, then My Certificates, then Home Loan Int. Cert. (Prov). Select the relevant home loan account and view or download the certificate as a PDF. The important word in that menu is "Prov": it identifies the provisional certificate service.
This route appears in SBI's Global Connect January 2026 newsletter, on the page numbered 8. The public document was checked on 29 October 2026. This guide describes the bank's published procedure; an individual customer's account and current signed-in menu were not accessed.
| What you need | Where SBI's instructions point |
|---|---|
| Provisional home loan interest certificate | e-Services, My Certificates, Home Loan Int. Cert. (Prov) |
| Output | View or download a PDF for the selected home loan account |
| Account transaction statement | My Accounts and Profile, Account Statement |
| Alternative certificate service | Contact centre delivery to a registered email address |
How to download the SBI home loan interest certificate
Start from the official SBI website and use its Internet Banking entry. After signing into your own account, follow the certificate route above. SBI's newsletter directs the customer to choose the specific home loan account before viewing or downloading the document. Where several accounts appear, that selection is part of the procedure, rather than a detail to skip.
Once the document is available, check that it belongs to the intended loan and period before using its figures. A certificate for another account, or a provisional document for a different period, will not answer the same question. This is a document check, not a calculation of the tax deduction available to the borrower.
Can SBI send a home loan interest certificate by email?
SBI also documents an alternative in its Bouquet of Products and Services booklet. The page numbered 61 gives a contact centre procedure for delivery of a home loan interest certificate to the customer's registered email address, if available.
The published sequence is to call 1800 1234 or 1800 2100 from the registered mobile number, press 3 for the SBI Yono, Internet Banking and interest certificate menu, then press 4 for the home loan interest certificate service. The instructions then ask for the last four digits of the account number. These are the options printed in the booklet; follow the current recorded service prompts if they have changed.
The booklet specifically says the registered email address must be available and asks customers to update it if it is not registered. That makes the email record a practical prerequisite for this delivery route. It does not establish a guaranteed delivery time, so this guide does not attach an invented turnaround deadline to the service.
Interest certificate, account statement and tax deduction
An account statement has a separate menu path. SBI's newsletter places it under My Accounts and Profile, followed by Account Statement. It lists selection by date, month, the last six months or financial year, with options to view, print or download. A borrower seeking transactions should therefore distinguish that service from the provisional certificate menu.
The certificate also does not settle tax eligibility on its own. The Income Tax Department's AY 2026-27 guide treats housing loan principal and interest under separate provisions and distinguishes the tax regimes. The amount shown in a bank document should not automatically be treated as the amount deductible in a return.
Search suggestions also include questions about a certificate password. The public SBI instructions read for this guide do not specify a universal PDF password. No password pattern is supplied here.
