NEW DELHI: Renault's current Kwid brochure assigns six airbags to Climber, while its standard safety list includes driver and front-passenger airbags. The same brochure restricts hill start assist to easy-R AMT. These footnotes matter: a headline feature on the model page is not sufficient evidence that it is fitted to every Kwid version.

The feature count and the airbag count answer different questions

Renault advertises a collection of standard safety features for the Kwid, but that headline is not an airbag count. A list can include reminders, braking assistance, door-locking functions and other equipment with different jobs. To establish the airbag provision of an individual version, read the airbag entry and its footnote directly.

The current brochure names Evolution and Climber, with manual and easy-R AMT combinations. The useful showroom comparison therefore has two dimensions: the trim determines some equipment, while the transmission determines the applicability of another feature. Asking only whether the car is a Kwid, or whether it is automatic, leaves part of the specification unresolved.

The desk's existing Kwid price guide is a separate financial reference. Before using any earlier range description for a fresh quotation, match it against the current official brochure and the exact version being offered. This article does not treat an earlier trim name as proof of today's equipment.

Hill start assist follows the AMT footnote

The brochure places hill start assist on easy-R AMT. A buyer should not transfer that claim to a manual simply because both cars share the same trim badge. Ask for the feature to be identified in the specification of the transmission being considered, and for its operation to be demonstrated according to the vehicle's instructions.

Hill start assist and traction control should also remain separate in the discussion. The former is associated with moving away on a slope. Renault describes traction control as limiting wheel slip. Neither description is evidence that the driver can ignore road conditions or hand over responsibility for controlling the car.

Climber's camera is another equipment distinction

The brochure assigns the rear-view camera to Climber. Renault explains that the image appears on the screen when reverse is engaged and includes guiding lines. That gives a buyer a concrete demonstration to request on the actual car, rather than relying on an interior photograph showing a screen.

A screen with smartphone mirroring and a screen displaying a reversing-camera view are different capabilities. Check both if both are important to the household. For the camera, examine visibility in the parking situation normally used and familiarise yourself with what lies outside the displayed view. Its presence should support observation around the vehicle.

Who this equipment check is for

This guide is for a household choosing between Evolution and Climber, or comparing manual and AMT versions within a trim. It is especially useful when the car will be shared: the person signing the quotation may not be the person who regularly parks it or uses a sloping driveway. Have those drivers take part in the demonstration.

Make a short written list of the features that matter before visiting the showroom. Against each, record whether it is in the official specification of the chosen version and whether it was demonstrated. That turns a broad discussion about a model's safety equipment into a check of a particular car, without assuming that every advertised feature is standard.

For a separate ownership reference, read the desk's Duster warranty explainer, whose model-specific terms should not be transferred to Kwid. Families comparing layouts can also consult the Triber space guide. Equipment, warranty and passenger room deserve separate checks; a stronger result in one category does not answer the others.
