NEW DELHI: Philips lists the NA352/00 dual-basket airfryer at Rs 15,499 and the NA342/00 at Rs 14,499 on its India store. The cheaper model has a 7.2-litre cooking chamber and a viewing window; the NA352/00 provides a combined 9 litres across separate baskets. The difference is therefore about organising a meal as much as increasing capacity.

Two baskets change the meal plan

Philips describes the NA352/00 arrangement as a 6-litre basket alongside a 3-litre basket, with synchronised finishing. Its page lists eight preset menus. The practical distinction is that the meal can be divided between separate containers, rather than requiring everything to share the same cooking space.

Consider a kitchen preparing a vegetable side alongside a main dish. The useful question is whether those foods should be kept apart during cooking. A larger total capacity alone does not answer that question. The NA352/00's split layout makes the division explicit, while its synchronisation feature addresses the separate issue of having the components ready together.

That also explains why the combined litre figure needs care. Two baskets do not form one uninterrupted chamber. A vessel or large item that needs continuous space must be assessed against an individual basket, rather than the total printed capacity. This is a layout comparison, not a guarantee that either model accommodates a particular household's cookware.

The NA352/00 layout also makes portion balance relevant. A main dish may belong in the larger basket while a smaller accompaniment occupies the other. The NA342/00 instead presents its capacity as a single cooking space. Neither approach can be evaluated just by counting litres: the shape of the food, whether ingredients should share a chamber and the sequence of the meal all matter. This is why the two models remain different propositions despite sitting close together in the same official price catalogue.

A window and a different cooking brief

The NA342/00 has a cooking window and digital controls. Philips markets it with 16 cooking functions, and its specifications name air frying, baking, roasting, grilling, toasting, dehydrating and fermenting. The NA352/00 specifications instead list frying, baking, grilling, roasting and reheating.

For an Indian kitchen moving between reheating snacks and preparing a single batch, the window is a distinct convenience: it provides a way to inspect the food visually. It does not measure internal doneness. Likewise, a longer list of functions should be read as the manufacturer's description of supported tasks, rather than evidence of better results in every recipe.

The NA342/00 page needs one qualification. Its highlights advertise low-temperature operation for fermentation, but the specification block gives a different, narrower temperature range. This comparison does not resolve that inconsistency or prescribe a fermentation setting. Owners should follow the instructions supplied with their exact unit for the selected programme.

Rated watts are not a bill estimate

The NA352/00 carries the higher rated power. That tells readers something about the appliance's electrical rating, but does not establish the electricity consumed by a finished meal. Cooking time, selected programme and how the food is divided would all need to be known before making a useful running-cost comparison.

The shared absence of Wi-Fi is also relevant to the price difference. Neither official specification table describes an internet-connected model. The additional spend on the NA352/00 is tied to a visibly different basket arrangement, while the NA342/00 retains its own window and wider advertised cooking repertoire.
