NEW DELHI: OPPO's India specifications pair the Pad 5's 8GB/256GB configuration with SIM-based 5G, while the separate Wi-Fi page lists 8GB/128GB. The distinction matters beyond storage: the 5G version is identified as OPD2503, while the Wi-Fi version is OPD2502. Check that full identity when matching a product listing to the connectivity you expect.

Memory and mobile data change together

This is not a storage-only step between otherwise identically connected tablets. OPPO's separate sheets attach the larger storage capacity to the cellular model. A listing that says only Pad 5 and quotes the RAM allocation leaves out the detail that settles whether the tablet has the published SIM-based network capability.

The 5G sheet lists a SIM ejector tool among the box contents, alongside the tablet, charger, cable and documentation. It also identifies support for GNSS location technology. Those are concrete differences to check in the official record when planning a tablet that will be used away from a familiar wireless network.

For a commuter reading downloaded documents, local storage and network access solve different problems. Files already saved on the tablet do not need the same connection as a live meeting or a document still in the cloud. The practical question is which part of that workflow must remain available when the phone is elsewhere.

The Wi-Fi model still has its own wireless features

The Wi-Fi version's published specification supports Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 5, as well as WLAN tethering. It also lists Bluetooth 5.4 and USB OTG support. A Wi-Fi label therefore describes the absence of the separately documented cellular configuration, rather than an absence of wireless networking or accessory connections.

Its sheet specifies digital Type-C headphones and excludes analogue Type-C headphones. That small line can matter when packing a tablet for travel or an online class. A plug fitting the socket is not sufficient evidence of compatibility. Keep the accessory requirement with the tablet's model details rather than relying on connector shape alone.

A phone connection is a separate workflow

OPPO's product overview describes sharing files across the tablet, an iPhone and a PC, with O+ Connect mentioned for the iPhone route. It separately describes OPPO device synchronisation using an O+ Account and an OPPO phone, including phone-screen mirroring. These are device-linking features, not proof that the Wi-Fi tablet contains a cellular modem.

The distinction is useful in a household where a phone and tablet are frequently separated. A workflow that relies on another device being present should be evaluated differently from one built around the tablet's own SIM connection. Test the actual pairing and transfer task with the devices involved before relying on it for a class or meeting.

Shared screen features do not identify the network version

The overview promotes a 2.8K display, a 7:5 screen ratio and an adaptive refresh rate reaching 120Hz. Those headline features describe the viewing experience but do not resolve the connectivity question. The model code and memory combination remain more useful identifiers than a promotional display description shared across the product presentation.

OPPO also qualifies the maximum refresh rate as available only in certain apps. That is relevant when using the tablet for reading, writing and video, since a headline ceiling should not be interpreted as a fixed rate throughout every task. The overview's eye-comfort language likewise does not turn the tablet into a medical device.

Keep the launch record in its proper place

OPPO's India announcement dated 8 January 2026 introduced Pad 5 alongside the Reno15 series and described it around note-taking, entertainment and a large battery. That launch record establishes the company's intended role for the tablet. Current configuration details are clearer in the dedicated Wi-Fi and 5G specification sheets than in a short launch summary.

Each illustrates a different specification that needs to be checked against an exact device.

The difference in model codes is useful when checking a receipt or saved order description, even after setup is complete. Keep a record that includes the storage capacity and connectivity version together. That avoids a later accessory, support or replacement discussion beginning with only the broad Pad 5 name, which does not distinguish the two published India configurations.
