NTA sets SWAYAM July 2026 semester exams for 8 to 12 December

The National Testing Agency has announced the dates for the Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds examination for the July 2026 Semester. In a public notice dated 17 September 2026, NTA said the examination will be conducted from 8 to 12 December 2026. The notice identifies the examination as SWAYAM-17 and lists 13 and 14 December as buffer dates.
NTA has been entrusted with conducting the examination for courses offered under SWAYAM for the July 2026 Semester. The announcement is a date notice, not a result notice or an allotment document. It gives the semester, the five examination dates and the two buffer dates that candidates should keep available while waiting for further instructions.
Exam block runs for five days
The schedule table lists the examination dates as 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 December 2026. The dates are presented together as the July 2026 Semester examination under the SWAYAM programme. Candidates should keep the full block in their planning because the notice does not assign a particular course to a particular day in the text reproduced on the page.
The two dates after the examination block, 13 and 14 December 2026, are marked as buffer dates. A buffer date is not described in the notice as an extra examination day for every candidate. It is printed separately from the examination dates, so candidates should follow the later NTA instructions for any course or paper-specific use of the buffer arrangement.
Websites and help desk named by NTA
The agency has asked candidates to check the NTA website and the SWAYAM examination website regularly for the latest updates. The notice names exams.nta.nic.in/swayam/ and nta.ac.in as the websites to monitor. Candidates should use those official pages for any later information connected with the examination schedule, instructions or candidate services.
For queries or clarifications, the notice gives the NTA Help Desk number 011-4075 9000 and the email address swayam@nta.ac.in. These contacts are printed in the public notice for the July 2026 Semester examination. Candidates should quote the examination name and their relevant details when using the official contact route.
The schedule belongs to the July 2026 Semester even though the examination takes place in December. Candidates should keep those two parts of the title together when searching for updates. The month in the semester label identifies the academic offering, while 8 to 12 December identifies the examination period announced by NTA.
The announcement also connects the examination to the SWAYAM course system, but it does not publish a list of individual courses on the page. Candidates should not infer a paper-wise timing from the five-day block alone. The detailed information they need will have to be checked on the SWAYAM examination website or in a later official NTA update.
The dates announced by NTA give students a practical preparation window. They can keep 8 to 12 December free for the examination and 13 to 14 December available as the stated buffer period. That planning should be revisited if a later official notice changes the schedule or provides more detailed instructions.
The notice is dated 17 September 2026 and is signed by the NTA Director. It does not announce scores, certificates or a merit list. Its purpose is to tell candidates when the SWAYAM July 2026 Semester examination is scheduled and where to check for further information.
Candidates should therefore record SWAYAM-17 as an NTA examination scheduled for 8 to 12 December 2026, followed by buffer dates on 13 and 14 December. The official websites and the NTA Help Desk remain the reference points for the next update, including any course-level or candidate-level instructions.
