NBEMS sets FNB Final Mop-up counselling choice filling from 18 September

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has notified the schedule for the Final Mop-up Round of online Centralized Merit Based Counseling for FNB seats for the 2025 admission session. The notice is dated 15 September 2026 and says the round will be conducted in continuation of an NBEMS notice dated 24 June 2026 and under Chapter 3 of the handbook for FNB seat counselling.
Eligible candidates can log in and fill choices or options for the Final Mop-up Round from 18 September to 21 September 2026, up to 5:00 PM. The allotment will be processed from 22 to 24 September. NBEMS has fixed 25 September as the allotment result date, followed by physical joining at the allotted hospital from 25 September to 1 October.
Who can take part
The notice limits eligibility to candidates who are already registered for the counselling and were not allotted any seat during the First and or Second round of counselling. A candidate who does not meet both parts of this description should not assume that the Final Mop-up choice window is open for them. The detailed eligibility conditions are linked to the counselling handbook named in the notice.
NBEMS says the seat matrix for the Final Mop-up Round will be published before the round starts. Candidates should read the published matrix before filling options, because the matrix is the document that will show the seats available for this round. The schedule notice announces that publication but does not reproduce the seat matrix itself.
Hospital updates due before the round
The board has asked hospitals to keep the joining and resignation status of all candidates updated on the FNB counselling portal. If a candidate resigns before the Final Mop-up Round begins, the concerned hospital must update the resignation details on the portal on or before 17 September 2026 up to 5:00 PM. The update is required for the resultant vacant seat to be considered for inclusion in the Final Mop-up Round.
NBEMS warns that failure to update the resignation within the stipulated time will lead to non-inclusion of the corresponding seat in the Final Mop-up counselling. The notice gives the portal address as hadmin.nbe.edu.in/fnbadmin/doLogin for the hospital-side update. This instruction is addressed to hospitals, but it affects the seat matrix that candidates will see before choice filling.
Candidates are advised to carefully follow the flow chart showing the FNB seat allotment process for the Final Mop-up Round. The notice does not replace the handbook with a short list of every counselling rule. It points candidates to the handbook for detailed information and to the NBEMS communication web portal for further clarification or assistance.
Joining deadline and fee consequence
A candidate allotted a seat in this round must physically join the allotted institution by 1 October 2026. NBEMS states that a candidate who fails to join by the stipulated date will lose the FNB seat and the first-year course fee will be forfeited. The joining period starts on 25 September, the same date on which the allotment result is scheduled to be published.
The dates create a short sequence after the result. Choices close at 5:00 PM on 21 September, allotment processing takes place through 24 September, the result is due on 25 September, and physical joining runs until 1 October. Candidates should keep copies of their submitted choices and the allotment record while arranging the physical joining required by the notice.
Hospitals also have an ongoing record-keeping responsibility after allotment. The board says joining and resignation information must remain current on the counselling portal. This allows the counselling record to reflect the seat status used in the process and keeps the institutional side of the Final Mop-up round aligned with the schedule.
For a candidate who meets the stated eligibility, the immediate task is to use the online account between 18 and 21 September and submit the choices before 5:00 PM on the last day. The later dates are not interchangeable: the result is on 25 September, and the physical joining deadline is 1 October. Missing that final date carries the loss and fee consequence printed by NBEMS.
