Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, chief executive officer of the Sri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust since early 2024, has been transferred and posted as deputy secretary in the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission. The move was reported on 13–14 September 2026. A successor as SKVV CEO has not been named. The copy is neutral administrative reporting; it does not attack the government or the temple.

Mishra’s joining as CEO is placed in January–February 2024, with one account dating the charge to 2 February 2024 after shodashopchar. Before the temple posting he had served as additional commissioner (administration) in the Varanasi division. His earlier administrative record includes roles around Kumbh 2019 and Covid-period duties. Those are the locked career stamps for this file — not a full biodata dump.

His SKVV tenure covered pilgrim facilities and crowd standard operating procedures for peak calendars including Sawan, New Year and Mahashivratri. When crowd pressure peaked inside the dham, sparsh darshan in the garbhagriha was paused in favour of jhanki darshan. Air filters were installed in the dham during the period. Those operational notes describe how the trust managed volume; they are not a scorecard invented for this transfer piece.

In the same administrative shuffle, PCS officer Barkha Singh has been posted as Additional Municipal Commissioner, Varanasi, moving from principal manager at the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Sugar Mills Federation. Naming that parallel posting keeps the transfer map honest without turning the story into a wider bureaucracy round-up. The SKVV CEO chair and the additional municipal commissioner post are separate files that happened to move in the same window.

An unnamed successor leaves the temple trust’s day-to-day executive line temporarily without a locked new face. Pilgrim operations, crowd SOPs and facility management will continue under the trust’s standing structure until a new CEO is notified. This desk will not invent a name or a joining date. The locked fact is the vacancy at CEO level after Mishra’s UPSSSC posting.

UPSSSC as deputy secretary is a commission-side administrative seat, away from the temple’s pilgrim-facing brief. For Varanasi’s temple calendar, the practical near-term question is continuity of the SOPs Mishra’s tenure used at peak — Sawan queues, New Year pressure, Mahashivratri crowd geometry — under whoever takes the chair next. For the commission, it is a new deputy secretary arriving from a high-visibility temple assignment.

Transfer copy in Kashi often attracts political reading it does not earn on the facts. What is locked here is a named officer moving from SKVV CEO to UPSSSC deputy secretary, a tenure that began in early 2024, a prior additional-commissioner stint in the division, peak-crowd SOP work including the sparsh-to-jhanki switch and air-filter installation, no new CEO named yet, and Barkha Singh’s parallel posting as Additional Municipal Commissioner.

Until a fresh notification names the next SKVV CEO, the administrative stamp for 13–14 September is Mishra’s exit to UPSSSC and an open chair at the temple trust.
