NEW DELHI: Jawa's Perak page states a standard warranty of 4 years or 50,000 km, with an extension available up to 6 years and 1 year of complimentary roadside assistance. Owners checking a repair or extension should identify the policy attached to their motorcycle before assuming that the longer period applies automatically. The company's service page treats standard warranty, extended cover and Protection Plus separately.
| Official provision | What the page states |
|---|---|

| Protection Plus cooling period | 30 days |
| Protection Plus annual additional coverage | 12,000 km |
| Protection Plus maximum motorcycle kilometre cap | 72,000 km |
Begin with the motorcycle and its documents
For a Perak owner, a useful first step is to assemble the sale invoice, registration details, current odometer reading and any warranty certificate. This is a practical preparation checklist, not a claim that Jawa's public page lists every document as compulsory. The aim is to establish which motorcycle and policy the service centre is being asked to assess.
Record the symptom in ordinary language, including when it occurs and any warning indication. A dated photograph or short video may help explain an intermittent issue, but should not replace inspection. Avoid describing a suspected cause as an established manufacturing defect before the workshop has examined the motorcycle. The public pages do not promise automatic approval of every reported fault.
The Perak is identified on its product page with a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, a six-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch. Those details can help an owner describe where a symptom appears, but they do not establish coverage by themselves. A gear-change complaint, for example, still needs a diagnosis and a decision under the applicable warranty terms.
Separate an extension from Protection Plus
Jawa's service page says new customers can purchase extended warranty within the first year of ownership. It separately describes Protection Plus as available after the standard warranty expires. These are different entry points. An owner should ask for the correct policy name, its start date and its written terms, rather than relying on an informal description such as extra warranty.
For Protection Plus, the company requires a fitness check or maintenance service at an authorised centre within the preceding 365 days. Its FAQ also says the dealer must confirm vehicle fitness before selling the policy. Keep the inspection record with the policy so that the basis on which the additional cover was issued remains clear.
The stated cooling period applies to Protection Plus claims. Buying that policy and immediately reporting an existing problem should not be treated as proof that the repair will be covered. Ask the service centre to explain the applicable dates and assessment process in writing. This guide does not apply the Protection Plus waiting period to the standard Perak warranty.
Read the kilometre limits together
The service page gives Protection Plus an annual additional distance allowance, while also imposing an overall motorcycle kilometre cap. Those provisions need to be checked together against the odometer. A policy duration is not permission to ignore a distance limit, and the public summary should not be read as an unlimited-kilometre promise.
For a claim, request a job card that records the complaint and ask which work is proposed under warranty and which would be chargeable. This is suggested record-keeping, rather than a published guarantee of free diagnosis or a fixed repair deadline. Neither official page opened for this report supplies a complete component-by-component claims decision table.
Roadside assistance is another separate service. The Perak page includes it for the initial complimentary period, while the service page lists towing and other assistance benefits. That does not make every workshop repair a roadside-assistance benefit. Keep the assistance policy and the repair warranty distinct when asking how a particular breakdown will be handled.
