NEW DELHI: The New Honda Elevate's Low Speed Follow function is linked to CVT variants in Honda's official India announcement. It sits alongside six named Honda SENSING functions, rather than replacing the driver's role. Before a demonstration, check the exact grade, transmission and fitted assistance package. A manual Elevate and a CVT should not be assumed to offer identical low-speed assistance.

Check the gearbox before discussing Low Speed Follow

Honda's October 2026 New Elevate release specifically identifies Low Speed Follow on CVT variants. That statement should stay attached to the transmission when the feature is discussed. It is not evidence that every manual version has the function, nor does it establish that every feature pictured on a model page is fitted to every grade. Ask for the precise vehicle specification on the quotation.

The current specification page names SV, V, VX, ZX, ZX+ and ZX+ Black. Its readable feature matrix does not display all availability marks clearly enough to reproduce a complete grade-by-grade assistance table here. This guide therefore does not assign the entire SENSING package to every listed grade. Confirm the chosen grade's equipment using the current brochure and the actual demonstration vehicle.

Know what the six names refer to

Honda's global technology explanation describes adaptive cruise control as adjusting acceleration and deceleration in relation to the vehicle ahead. Where Low Speed Follow is available, it adds following assistance down to a stop. Lead Car Departure Notification has a different role: it alerts a stationary driver when the preceding vehicle moves away. An alert and a following-control function should not be confused.

Lane Keeping Assist concerns steering support within lane markings. Road Departure Mitigation addresses a possible departure from the road or lane. Collision Mitigation Braking System can warn and apply braking assistance when a collision risk is recognised. Auto High-Beam manages headlamp switching. These are broad manufacturer descriptions, not a promise that the system will identify every hazard in an Indian traffic situation.

The global explanation also says individual functions have recognition and control limits and may perform inadequately depending on road, weather and vehicle conditions. It directs owners to the actual vehicle's manual. Keep attention on surrounding traffic and use the handbook for operating instructions. A public-road demonstration should explain the controls and indications without deliberately creating a collision scenario.

The parking camera is a separate showroom check

The current Elevate model page highlights a 360-degree surround-vision camera and separately lists Honda SENSING. Honda's campaign material also describes the road-monitoring front camera as part of its driver-assistance explanation. These references serve different purposes. Seeing an image around the vehicle on the centre display does not, on its own, confirm that the selected following or lane-assistance function is active.

Ask the demonstrator to identify the instrument indications for assistance separately from the parking-camera display. Then ask how warnings and unavailable-function messages appear in the car you are considering. This is a useful way to make a long feature list understandable: the driver should know where to look for system information, rather than merely remember that the brochure used the word camera.

Before leaving the demonstration, ask which settings belong to the driver display and which belong to the centre screen. Make a note of the handbook sections to read at home. Understanding where the information appears is more useful than trying to memorise every menu during a brief drive.

Use the current model page for the current car

The New Elevate continues with a petrol engine and offers both manual and CVT choices. The current technical page quotes 16.61 km/l for CVT and 15.31 km/l for manual. These are manufacturer mileage claims, not results of a road test for this guide. They help identify the present specification and should not be replaced with a number taken from older campaign material.

There is a particular reason to check document versions with this model. Honda's live campaign page still contains accessory-labelled camera references alongside refreshed model information. That mixed presentation is a reason to verify the written equipment list for the exact grade. It is not sufficient evidence either to charge for an accessory or to promise standard fitment on an unspecified vehicle.

For context on the updated vehicle, see our New Elevate launch report. The separate Elevate warranty guide addresses ownership cover, while our Amaze safety explainer illustrates another model's equipment distinctions. Neither transfers its specification to the Elevate.
