NEW DELHI: HMD's India pages list the Crest 5G at Rs 14,499 for the selected Midnight Blue 6GB/128GB version and the Vibe 5G at Rs 8,999 for Black with 4GB/128GB. Both sit below Rs 15,000, but the Crest's OLED screen, higher-resolution selfie camera and faster rated charging make this more than a memory comparison.

Price as of 4 November 2026, 14:29 IST. These are displayed handset prices for the selections above, without a bank-card calculation or exchange valuation. Both selected versions were marked out of stock when checked, so the figures describe official listings rather than a promise of immediate delivery.

The screen is the clearest separation

Both specification sheets give the same screen diagonal. The shared measurement can hide an important difference when someone is scrolling through short product listings: Crest uses a Full HD+ OLED panel, while Vibe uses an HD+ IPS panel. Screen size alone does not describe the image being shown.

For someone who reads long messages or checks photographs on the handset, it makes sense to inspect text and familiar pictures on each display. That is a more useful comparison than treating the common diagonal as evidence of identical screens. Refresh rate and resolution also answer different questions about a display.

The same distinction is discussed for another budget pair in our HMD 101 vs HMD 100 price: HMD 100 starts lower at Rs 969. Those are separate models; the relevant lesson here is to read the complete screen specification before equating similarly sized phones.

Selfies and charging change the everyday brief

Crest's product page emphasises its front camera and selfie gestures. Vibe's page instead foregrounds its clean Android software and replacement guarantee. Neither marketing emphasis establishes image quality in difficult light. A camera's megapixel figure is a specification, rather than a test result showing skin tones, motion or video-call performance.

The charging ratings are another practical difference. They should not be converted into a claimed full-charge time without an official test covering that condition. Someone who leaves a phone charging overnight may frame this differently from someone who regularly needs a short top-up before leaving home.

Memory needs a careful reading

The technical sheets list more physical RAM for Crest, while both selected versions have the same internal-storage capacity. HMD also lists virtual-memory options separately. Combining those figures into a headline memory total would make the distinction between installed RAM and memory extension harder to follow.

Both sheets identify the same processor. That makes this pair particularly useful for separating the price of a broader hardware package from assumptions about the chip alone. More money here changes several components together; it does not simply buy a different processor badge.

For a shared family handset, make a short list of the jobs that matter: reading documents, taking a front-camera picture and keeping essential applications open. Use that same list when inspecting both phones. It gives the memory and display differences a concrete purpose without assuming that every user benefits equally from the dearer specification.

Who each phone is for

Crest's specification points towards users who place greater weight on the screen and front camera. Vibe's lower listed price frames a more basic smartphone brief. Those are interpretations of the published hardware, not hands-on performance rankings. Availability, the installed software build and the user's actual applications still need checking on the device.

Names need equal care. The HMD 102 price list: Rs 1,269 for 4MB/4MB concerns a different handset. Our HMD 110 4G price: Rs 2,799 for 64MB/128MB offers another budget-phone reference without changing the figures for these two HMD selections.

The Crest specification lists two microphones, one speaker and OZO Audio. Vibe lists one microphone and two speakers. Bluetooth also differs: Crest specifies version 5.0, while Vibe specifies 5.2. Both sheets list a side power-key fingerprint sensor and face unlock.

Crest's manufacturing declaration names Padget Electronics at Plot No. 6, Sector 90, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh 201305. Vibe's names Bhagwati Products Limited at SP1-1, Industrial Area Karoli, Tapukara Extension, Bhiwadi, Rajasthan 301019. Vibe carries model identifier TA-1741. Both sheets promise two years of quarterly security updates, measured from the respective device's global launch date.
