Amid the ongoing spell of intense heat across the country, the Meteorological Department has issued a high alert warning of further rise in temperatures in the coming days. According to officials, the risk of heatwave conditions remains significant, with several regions already experiencing extreme weather.
In light of the situation, Dr. Brijesh Kumar, Chief Medical Superintendent of the District Divisional Hospital, has advised citizens to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses. He urged people to avoid stepping out in direct sunlight, especially between 11 AM and 3 PM, when temperatures peak.
Emphasizing the importance of hydration, Dr. Kumar recommended drinking plenty of water, wearing light and breathable cotton clothing, and covering the head while outdoors. He also highlighted that children, elderly individuals, and those with pre-existing health conditions require special care during this period.
Health experts have warned that symptoms of heatstroke may include dizziness, high fever, vomiting, and extreme weakness. In such cases, individuals are advised to immediately seek medical attention at the nearest health center.
Authorities continue to urge the public to remain vigilant and follow official guidelines as the heatwave intensifies.
