GURUGRAM: Gurugram Metro Rail Limited issued a notice on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, setting a November 3 consultation with prospective bidders for signalling, train control, communications and security systems on the Millennium City Centre to Cyber City corridor. The meeting will run from 3 pm to 5 pm IST at its office near AIT Chowk on Golf Course Road, Sector 52-53, with remote participation also planned.
The new development is an early market engagement session for contract package AST-01. The notice tentatively places publication of the electronic procurement notice in December 2026. It expressly says the consultation is a forum for discussing the bidding process and does not itself begin procurement for that package.
What the November 3 meeting covers
The official notice dated October 28 describes a package covering the design, supply, installation, integration, testing and commissioning of the systems. The scope includes communication based signalling and train control, telecommunications and security equipment for the metro project between Millennium City Centre and Cyber City.
The maintenance requirement is part of the proposed package too. The description includes comprehensive maintenance during a three-year defect notification period, followed by a further seven years of comprehensive maintenance. These periods belong to the proposed systems contract. They are not an announcement of when passenger services will start.
GMRL lists several purposes for meeting the market before issuing the procurement notice. It wants prospective bidders to understand the opportunity and the evaluation and qualification criteria, discuss the project's requirements, flag potential risks early and offer feedback on the proposed procurement approach.
That gives interested firms a chance to identify practical issues before the tender is issued. The notice does not publish the final qualification thresholds, a contract price, a bid submission deadline or an award date. It would therefore be premature to describe the November session as the opening of bids or the selection of a contractor.
- Package: AST-01.
- Notice date: October 28, 2026.
- Consultation: Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 3 pm to 5 pm IST.
- Physical venue: GMRL boardroom, HMRTC Depot 2, near AIT Chowk, Sector 52-53.
- Procurement notice: tentatively planned for December 2026.
How the session is arranged
Prospective bidders attending in person are directed to the boardroom at GMRL's office at HMRTC Depot 2. The notice gives the Golf Course Road address in Sector 52-53. This is an industry consultation about a future contract, rather than a passenger service meeting or a public station opening.
For remote attendance, the notice provides for participation through an online meeting platform. It says the joining link, meeting identification and passcode will be shared with prospective bidders at least 24 hours before the scheduled start. The document is signed by General Manager for Signalling and Telecommunications Mukesh Kumar Vishwakarma.
GMRL's official home page links the AST-01 notice. Firms checking the event should use that document for the package name and date. The November 3 session concerns signalling and associated systems; it should not be confused with separate consultations or procurement notices for tracks, civil structures or utility shifting.
Where this fits in the corridor programme
The authority's official route map shows the proposed corridor linking Millennium City Centre with Cyber City through areas including Subhash Chowk, Sector 10, Sector 9 and Palam Vihar. It also marks the Sector 33 depot and the branch towards Sector 101. The map supplies geographic context for the project; the October 28 notice defines the AST-01 contract scope.
The official civil tender register separately lists elevated structures and stations between Sector 9 and Cyber City, as well as utility rearrangement and traffic diversion works. Those are distinct entries from the systems package now being discussed. Progress in one procurement category does not establish completion of the others.
For residents, the immediate news is the scheduled consultation and the tentative December procurement step. The notice announces no fare, passenger timetable or opening date. Further tender documents will be needed to establish the detailed obligations and delivery schedule for the selected systems contractor.
Earlier local reporting provides background on metro utility and traffic works, the civil tender from Sector 9 to Cyber City and metro land acquisition at Islampur and Basai.
