Google's Fitbit Air has gone on sale in India, bringing a screenless fitness band to buyers who want to track activity and sleep without another display on their wrist. Sales began on 2 October 2026, according to Google's India announcement. The official India store lists it at Rs 13,999.

The design makes the phone central to using it. There is no watch face to glance at between meetings or screen to swipe through during a walk. Activity and sleep information appears in the Google Health app, while a small status light on the tracker shows information such as a low battery. Google explains the controls in its Fitbit Air getting-started guide.
India colours, bands and where to buy
Google has announced four colours for India: Obsidian, Berry, Lavender and Fog. A Performance Loop band comes with the tracker, and the package includes a three-month Google Health Premium trial. The India band listing specifies an adjustable fit for wrists measuring 130 to 210 mm around.
That loop uses recycled polyester and elastane yarn with a stainless steel buckle. Google also lists an Active Band made from silicone, available in small and large sizes. These separate accessory listings sell the band alone, so buyers should check that they have selected the tracker when ordering.
The Google Store is the confirmed direct buying channel. Google's announcement also names retail partners without identifying individual chains. For those comparing other wearable offers during the shopping season, our Amazon and Flipkart festive sale calendar provides the wider timetable. A sale calendar alone does not establish Fitbit Air stock at either marketplace.
Sensors, battery life and water resistance
Google's published hardware specifications list an optical heart-rate monitor, a three-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, red and infrared sensors for blood oxygen tracking, and a temperature sensor. The tracker measures 34.9 x 17 x 8.3 mm without its band and weighs 5.2 g on its own, or 12 g with the band.
The device records activity and sleep, with information reviewed in the app. Blood oxygen saturation, or SpO2, is estimated during sleep. Automatic activity recognition can record workouts for later review, and users can edit their activity details in the app. It also supports silent vibrating alarms set from the phone, according to Google's support guide.
Battery life is rated at up to seven days. Google quotes about 90 minutes for a full charge and says five minutes of charging can provide a day's use. Those are manufacturer figures. Its battery guidance says actual endurance depends on enabled features, usage and other conditions, so a week between charges should be treated as a maximum claim.
Water protection is specified as 5 ATM, alongside IP68 dust and water resistance, in Google's safety and regulatory guide. Resistance can decline with wear or damage. The same guide describes the general wellness functions as informational, rather than tools for diagnosing or treating illness.
Two checks before buying
First, consider how much you want to leave your phone behind. Fitbit Air uses connected GPS, drawing location data from a nearby phone instead of an onboard GPS receiver. Google's GPS support page says to keep the phone near the tracker during a workout and allow the necessary location permissions.
Calling is another limitation: Google's comparison chart lists no LTE calling or incoming call, text and app notifications for Air. Bluetooth serves the connection to the phone for syncing. Buyers seeking more functions on the wrist can also read our OnePlus Watch 2R coverage.
Phone compatibility matters too. Google's India listing specifies Android 11 or newer, or iOS 16.4 or newer, plus a Google account and the Google Health app. Check the operating system on the handset you intend to pair before ordering.
Second, separate the included tracking from the subscription. Google's India Premium page places steps, sleep stages, Sleep Score and several health metrics in the Base offering. Personalised coaching built with Gemini, adaptive fitness plans and additional sleep insights sit in Premium. Before activating the bundled trial, check its eligibility, renewal amount and cancellation terms in the app, particularly if coaching is the main reason for buying.
