NEW DELHI: Samsung's standard India warranty lists 12 months for a mobile handset and its battery, with six months for other in-box accessories. Galaxy F15 5G owners should check that cover against their purchase invoice. The phone's longer software-update policy is a separate commitment and should not be treated as a hardware repair warranty.

Start with the handset's own paperwork

Find the invoice for the F15 rather than using the date of a review, launch announcement or family handover. Samsung's India terms say the actual warranty date is verified against the purchase invoice. If the date recorded for the product appears wrong, that document is the starting point for checking the discrepancy.

This is especially relevant to the F15 because its launch announcement dates from March 2024. A launch date does not establish when an individual owner bought a particular unit. Equally, possessing an older model does not by itself tell you whether the standard warranty is still running. The purchase record resolves that question more directly.

Keep an accessible copy of the invoice alongside the phone's identifying details. As a practical precaution, retain the original bill as well. Before arranging a visit, write a short description of the fault and when it occurs. A phone that switches off during a call needs a different explanation from a cable that works only when held at an angle.

Register the correct product

Samsung's India registration guide describes a route through My Page on its website. Owners sign in to their Samsung account, open My Products and use Device registration. The guide allows registration using the serial number or IMEI, followed by a check of the identifier. This is an optional preparation step for the owner, not a diagnosis.

After registration, confirm that the displayed product is the F15 you own. Keep the handset and accessory records together but clearly identified. A replacement charger bought separately should have its own purchase record rather than being assumed to share the handset's original sale date.

Samsung's registration guide says the product appears in My Products after successful registration. Its warranty page separately explains that entering the invoice date and attaching the invoice helps produce accurate warranty information. Treat those as complementary records. Registration makes the product easier to identify; the invoice establishes the purchase evidence.

Why the F15's battery claims need care

The F15 was introduced with a 6000mAh battery and support for 25W charging. Samsung's launch materials also described battery life of up to two days. That is a usage claim, not a promise that every owner's phone will run for that long, or a statement that any shorter runtime automatically qualifies for a free battery replacement.

For a useful service description, record what the phone was doing when the battery problem occurred. Was it charging, playing video or sitting unused? Note whether the symptom follows the handset across charging accessories. Avoid opening the phone to investigate. Describe the observed behaviour rather than assigning an untested cause to the battery.

Our Galaxy M36 charging explainer discusses another model's adapter requirements. It is useful background on reading charging specifications, but its box contents should not be transferred to the F15. An accessory's purchase and coverage need their own checks.

Software support and repair cover run separately

Samsung announced four generations of Android upgrades and five years of security updates for the F15. These describe software support. They do not extend the standard handset warranty to the same duration. Our Galaxy F16 support-date guide explains a related support-page distinction for a different model.

Samsung's standard mobile warranty provides repair through authorised service personnel. The policy also distinguishes damage or misuse from covered defects. Preserve the service paperwork and request a clear explanation of the assessment before authorising paid work. A warranty period establishes the window for a claim, while the fault still requires assessment.
