BYD India has introduced a SEALION 7 Festive Edition at Rs 50.60 lakh ex-showroom, limiting the run to 150 cars. Announced on 12 October, the edition is based on the Premium variant and adds a tan-and-black interior while retaining that version's battery, rear-wheel-drive layout and equipment.
The special cabin carries a Rs 70,000 premium over the regular Premium variant, currently listed at Rs 49.90 lakh. These are prices as of 13 October 2026, 05:39 IST. The difference is a comparison between two versions on sale, rather than a discount on the limited edition.
A cabin change within the existing range
In its official announcement, BYD identifies the new upholstery combination as the edition's main visual change. It describes quilted Nappa leather seats, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, a head-up display and a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade. The release does not announce a more powerful motor or a larger battery for the festive car.
For buyers comparing the full line-up, the current official list places the Dynamic at Rs 41.90 lakh and the Performance at Rs 55.90 lakh, both ex-showroom. Choosing the Festive Edition therefore means choosing the Premium specification with its special interior, rather than obtaining the all-wheel-drive configuration of the Performance variant.
BYD has not disclosed a booking deposit for this edition, a delivery deadline or how the 150 cars will be divided among dealerships. The limited production figure cannot establish whether a particular showroom has an available allocation. That needs a dealer confirmation against the exact edition and colour being ordered.
Battery and charging numbers need their qualifiers
The Premium uses an 82.56 kWh Blade lithium iron phosphate battery and a rear-mounted motor rated at 230 kW and 380 Nm. BYD claims a 0 to 100 km/h time of 6.7 seconds. Those figures remain unchanged in the Festive Edition, according to the release, so the interior treatment does not bring an announced performance increase.
The stated 567 km range is measured on the NEDC test cycle. It should not be read as a guaranteed distance between charging stops, or relabelled as an Indian IDC result. Anyone comparing it with another EV's advertised range needs to check that car's test cycle before treating the headline numbers as equivalent.
The current SEALION 7 specifications list 11 kW AC charging and a 150 kW CCS2 DC charging connection for the Premium. The festive announcement does not supply a new charging-time promise. Charger capability alone also does not establish how long every charging session will take.
Practical dimensions are unchanged. The five-seat SUV measures 4,830 mm long, 1,925 mm wide and 1,620 mm tall, with a 2,930 mm wheelbase. BYD lists a 500-litre rear luggage compartment and 58 litres of front storage. Those are useful numbers to check against parking space and luggage needs during a showroom visit.
What the ownership cover includes
BYD's current warranty table gives the high-voltage electric powertrain, including the traction battery, motor and controller, eight years or 1,60,000 km of cover, whichever comes first. The comprehensive vehicle warranty is six years or 1,50,000 km. Both need to be read with the manufacturer's conditions.
The shorter terms cover whole-vehicle lights, the tyre-pressure monitoring module, suspension, multimedia equipment and several other specified components for three years or 1,25,000 km, whichever comes first. The listed low-voltage LFP battery cover is six years or 1,25,000 km, also whichever comes first. These component-specific limits sit alongside the separate traction-battery warranty. Buyers should ask for the warranty schedule supplied with their car, rather than assume that an eight-year headline applies to every repair or consumable.
BYD says more than 4,500 SEALION 7 cars are operating in India and that its showroom network spans 49 locations in 40 cities. Those are company-reported figures. For an individual purchase, the useful next step is to confirm the nearest service arrangement, the final on-road quotation and delivery allocation in writing.
The edition arrives alongside other changes in the premium EV market. Dalimss News has separately covered Denza's announced India entry and the Porsche Cayenne Electric's India launch. Neither announcement changes the SEALION 7's edition-specific price, warranty or availability conditions.
