NEW DELHI: Owners of the Belkin BoostCharge USB-C PD Power Bank 20K, model BPB002, should stop using it and check Belkin's recall instructions. The company's current safety notice includes all units of this model because a manufacturing defect can cause battery components to overheat. A normally functioning pack is not exempt from that instruction.

Find the code on the actual power bank
Belkin says the model and serial details are on the product label, on the back or underside. Locate BPB002 on the device itself before assuming that a familiar product photograph is enough. Similar capacities and the BoostCharge name appear across different accessories, while this recall identifies a specific model.
The original BPB002 specification describes a 20000mAh pack with a 30W USB-C connection and a 12W USB-A connection. It was designed to power a USB-C device while charging another accessory. Those details help identify a pack that may have stayed in a laptop bag, but the printed model code remains the decisive check.
This matters when a portable battery has moved between family members or been retained after a laptop replacement. The person currently carrying it may never have seen the original order. Start with the object in hand and then gather its paperwork; do not use the absence of the box as evidence that the warning does not apply.
Disconnect before preparing the claim
Belkin's notice directs owners to disconnect affected products from power supplies and other devices, then keep them in a dry, safe place away from flammable material. It explicitly says affected products should not continue to be used even if they seem fine. Testing another charging cycle is therefore not part of the maker's checking process.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission's notice is dated 13 November 2025. This is an existing recall being checked against current official instructions, rather than an announcement of a new Indian recall today. The US notice identifies BPB002 serials beginning with 35S; Belkin's broader support notice says all units of the model.
Indian readers should retain that distinction. A serial filter in a notice for another jurisdiction should not be used to override the manufacturer's broader stop-use instruction. The opened pages do not establish an India-specific affected-unit count or a rupee compensation amount, so neither is asserted here.
Prepare evidence and confirm the local remedy
The US regulator asks for photographs of the front and back of the affected product with the claim submission. Its remedy description allows a receipt-based refund, an average-sales-price refund without a receipt, or store credit with a 20% uplift over the average sales price. Those are US notice terms, not a verified Indian payout schedule.
Belkin's general notice offers a choice between a refund and store credit and directs readers to its claim process using purchase evidence or the serial number. For an owner in India, the useful preparation is a readable label, the available invoice and the purchase-country record. Keep those together when following the regional instructions linked from Belkin's page.
Our Gadget and accessory price guide concerns a different battery pack. Our Ambrane Stellar 20K price: Rs 2,199 for the Orange variant describes a separate campaign. Neither the shared capacity class nor another brand's model list replaces the BPB002 check.
Use the recall disposal instructions
Belkin says affected products must not go into ordinary waste or recycling bins. Its notice points to a certified facility capable of handling lithium-ion batteries and says to check acceptance before dropping the device off. A convenient collection box is not automatically the correct destination for a recalled battery.
The pack should also be removed from routine travel preparations while its recall is being handled. Our Anker power-bank recall: check these 5 model codes and your serial covers carriage rules, but those rules do not cancel this model's stop-use notice.
