WBMCC publishes provisional Round 2 seat allotment for West Bengal NEET UG

The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee has published the provisional seat allotment result for Round 2 of WB UG medical and dental counselling 2026. The PDF is titled Provisional Seat Allotment Result Round-2 and lists institute, course, allotted quota, allotted category, candidate category and status columns for each row. Status values in the file include Retained and Fresh Allotment.

The opening pages show Medical College, Kolkata MBBS State Quota Unreserved seats with a mix of retained Round 1 holders and fresh Round 2 allotments against All India ranks. The same structure continues across government and private institutes for MBBS and BDS under State Quota and related quota labels defined in the header as UR, EWS, SC, ST, OBC and PwD.

How to read the Round 2 result file

Each row carries Round number, All India Rank, choice number where applicable, institute name, course, allotted quota, allotted category, candidate category and status. A Retained status means the candidate continues on a seat already held. Fresh Allotment marks a new Round 2 assignment. Candidates should match their own All India Rank and login record rather than relying on a neighbour's printout.

The result sits alongside earlier Round 2 artefacts on the WBMCC site, including the provisional verified candidates list and seat matrix. The allotment PDF answers which institute and quota a candidate received in Round 2. It does not by itself replace the reporting instructions in the revised schedule dated 17 September 2026, which adds an admission day on 19 September for allotted candidates.

What allotted candidates should do next

Candidates with a Round 2 allotment need to complete reporting and admission with original documents, fees and bond as required by WBMCC and the allotted institute. For private medical colleges, admission formalities may be routed through designated government medical colleges in Kolkata, as stated in the counselling schedule notices. Private dental reporting is pointed to Dr R Ahmed Dental College in those schedule notes.

Upgraded candidates must obtain a server-generated relieving letter and recover deposited fees and documents from the previous college before joining the new allotment. Timings for the extra Round 2 admission day and later Round 3 steps are set out in the 17 September schedule PDF. The allotment result file itself remains the reference for the seat shown against a candidate's rank.

Because the PDF runs to many pages of rank-ordered rows, candidates should search by All India Rank or use the portal login view if WBMCC provides one alongside the bulk file. Printing a single page without verifying the rank and institute fields is a common error during busy Round 2 days.

Parents and candidates should also separate this provisional Round 2 allotment from the earlier provisional verified candidates list. Verification eligibility and allotment are sequential steps. A name on a verified list does not automatically mean a Round 2 college has been assigned until the allotment result row says so.

After confirming the seat, follow the admission day instructions in the revised schedule, including the extra Round 2 reporting day on 19 September 2026 from 10 am to 4 pm. Carry originals, fees and bond papers demanded by the allotted institute pathway. Keep screenshots of the official result only as a personal reference; the WBMCC PDF and portal remain authoritative.
