NEW DELHI: vivo V60 owners preparing a warranty claim should keep their purchase order or invoice ready and take the phone to an authorised service centre. The India store FAQ lists one year of handset hardware cover and six months for the original packaged battery, adapter and accessories. The V60's IP68 and IP69 ratings do not extend that cover to damage caused by liquid immersion.
| V60 claim check | Official position |
|---|---|
| Handset hardware | One year from purchase |
| Original packaged battery, adapter and accessories | Six months |
| Supporting record | Purchase order number; keep proof of purchase |
| Liquid immersion damage | Excluded from warranty |
| Water resistance | IP68 and IP69, subject to laboratory conditions |
Start with the item that has failed
Separate a fault in the phone from a problem with its supplied charger or battery. The FAQ gives those items different periods, so the handset's anniversary is not the only date to check. Write down the purchase date, the affected item and what happens when the fault appears. This is a practical preparation step, not an additional document requirement imposed by vivo.
The company's FAQ makes complimentary maintenance conditional on a manufacturing defect and excludes misuse, abuse, damage and waterlogging. Being inside the calendar period therefore does not settle eligibility. Ask the authorised centre to assess the fault under the relevant category before assuming a repair will be free.
Keep a usable purchase record
The support-document column names the purchase order number. Keep the invoice with it if available, rather than relying on a photograph of the phone box alone. If the invoice is missing, vivo says its representative can assist using the handset's IMEI. That is a route to checking the record, not a published promise that every invoice-free claim will be accepted.
Back up your data before handing over the V60. vivo's multiple-country service page specifically warns that service can cause data loss. As a preparation checklist, confirm that important photographs and documents can actually be opened from the backup, then note the reported fault separately so it remains available after the phone is handed over.
Read the water-resistance qualification
The V60 is an unusually easy phone on which to confuse a shooting feature with a repair entitlement. Its specifications list Underwater Photography among the rear camera modes, alongside a 50MP main camera, 50MP telephoto camera and 8MP ultrawide. Yet the product page tells owners to avoid immersion during daily use and expressly excludes immersion damage from warranty. The camera menu does not override that exclusion.
vivo also says resistance can diminish with normal use. Its instructions are to avoid seawater, beverages and corrosive fluids, and to clean and dry the device promptly if it becomes wet. Do not plug it in while wet. A claim file should describe any relevant exposure accurately instead of treating the IP label as evidence that every liquid-related fault must be covered.
For a closer look at specification language, our vivo phone price list India: Rs 13,999 to Rs 2,19,999 for T5e to X Fold6 addresses another label that needs context. The distinction between a marketing specification and a written service condition matters just as much when arranging a repair.
Check the separate overseas-service route
The store FAQ describes India-only service, but vivo also publishes a model-specific Multiple Countries Warranty Service list that includes V60. Its designated locations include India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain. Owners travelling between those markets should read that separate scheme rather than assuming the general store answer is the complete position for this model.
That scheme requires eligibility checks and valid purchase evidence. It covers warranty, paid repairs and software upgrades, while excluding returns, replacements and additional services such as screen insurance. Local materials and service policies can affect the result. Retain the purchase place and date with the invoice if this is the route you expect to use.
Readers dealing with another device can compare our Typical vs rated battery capacity: what the mAh on your phone page really means. For a separate transaction question, see the vivo S2 FE with 10,000 mAh battery launched in India at Rs 38,999, sale on 20 October. A repair claim and a request to reverse a purchase need different checks.
