Varanasi to Get World-Class Sports Township Near Ganjari Stadium

Varanasi: In a major boost to sports infrastructure and urban development, District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar has announced ambitious plans to develop a world-class sports township near Ganjari Stadium. Speaking exclusively to Dalimss News, the DM shared key details of the project aimed at transforming Varanasi into a modern sports and connectivity hub.

He said that an inbuilt parking facility for 500 vehicles is being developed at Ganjari Stadium to ensure smooth traffic management and convenience for spectators during large sporting events.

The District Magistrate further informed that the Varanasi Development Authority (VDA) is actively working on developing new areas to improve city connectivity, and that the land acquisition process is already underway for these projects.

Highlighting the larger vision, Satyendra Kumar stated that the areas surrounding the stadium will be developed into a high-end sports township, featuring premium hotels, high-class parking facilities, sports academies, training centres, and multiple sports-related amenities.

“The aim is to build a complete sports ecosystem in Varanasi, capable of hosting national and international events, while offering world-class facilities to athletes and visitors,” he said.

The project is also expected to create employment opportunities, boost tourism, and strengthen the local economy, giving a significant push to overall urban development.

With this initiative, Varanasi is poised to emerge as a major destination for sports, tourism, and modern infrastructure development, while preserving its rich cultural identity.
